Didn’t love the ceviche’s because cilantro tastes like soap to me but the other dishes were great! I recommend the truffle bites, the trout, the ravioli, and the rice is SOOOOOO good. Dessert was just okay.

Pricey, good for special occasions. The atmosphere and design of the place are nice, but it’s a bit small. The food was good, our favorite was definitely a ceviche we were sharing. It disappeared so fast I couldn’t even take a picture. The rest of the dishes were good but didn’t feel like anything special (maybe my expectations were too high). The presentation of the dishes is beautiful and the server was very knowledgeable as well.

I came here for my birthday celebration and left disappointed. Maybe I had my hopes up too high knowing it’s a Michelin guided restaurant, but I found the service to be just ok and the food overpriced. What disappointed me the most was the mussel special I ordered. The server failed to mention each mussel was plated on top of salt so I thought the white piles were rice/mashed potatoes due to the consistency. So guess who left the restaurant feeling salty? Also shouldn’t everything plated be edible? Apart from the mussels, I did enjoy the octopus dish and thought it was soft and flavourful. It was an interesting experience trying Peruvian cuisine but I would not come back again.

We were here for my partner’s birthday and Valentine’s Day celebration. We ordered the 2 cocktails, the Hamachi Ceviche, Pork Belly Chiccharon, Octopus with additional 2 scallops, 9oz Lomo Saltado, Pineapple Cake and the digestive.

Our server was very attentive and overall amazing despite the restaurant being so busy on Valentine’s Day weekend.

The cocktails were worth it for the price. We had the Pisco sour and Migrant. It was one of the best Pisco Sour’s I’ve had, and the Migrant was such a creative and delicious drink.

The Hamachi and Octopus were outstanding. Best octopus dish I’ve had. It was so tender and flavourful. It was a bit of a shock to see that the additional scallops were $9 each, but I guess that’s just the market value for scallops nowadays.

I’ve had a lot of Pork Bellys in my life so while the Pork Belly Chiccharon dish was still very delicious, I would probably try something else next time.

The Lomo Saltado was a bit disappointing for the price. The price on the menu was $75 for 9oz. It was delicious but maybe nothing worth the price. On the bill, there was also an extra charge of $21 for the 9oz which I should have asked about, coming to a total of $96, but they needed to clean the table for the next reservation so I just paid for it.

The dessert was one of the best desserts my partner and I have had in while. Every component in that dessert dish was perfect. They even added a candle since the server remembered it was my partner’s birthday :)

Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely come back to try the other cocktails, ceviche and the octopus dish again.

The ceviche had nice acidity but there are other options on the city. The duck was a bit too heavy for my taste.

The room is a bit too loud. It’s great with friends but it can be hard to hear what your partner is saying if you’re on a date. The service is a bit over the top attentive bordering on intrusive.

I’m glad I tried this place but none of the plates left a lasting impression. Somehow it hits all the right notes but none of it comes together well.

BUYER BEWARE:

Do yourself a favor and don’t give this place your money. Find someplace else that actually cares about its patrons and doesn’t look to just take their money for free. If you do decide to book, be forewarned, if you don’t cancel your reservation more than 24 hours in advance, they will take and keep your money. I called and emailed roughly 6-7 hours in advance of my scheduled reservation, which was just recently during the holidays. I was on vacation in Vancouver to celebrate and I realized that I accidentally booked two restaurants the same evening. Thus, I called to cancel my reservation with this restaurant as soon as I noticed my mistake, which, again, was 6-7 hours in advance and gave the restaurant plenty of time to fill the spot if people were looking to dine there that night. Instead of showing a shred of grace and decency, especially given that I could have concocted an emergency or other story, I told the truth and literally had to pay for it—$100, no less, and for nothing other than accidentally failing to cancel a reservation a day ahead. Moreover, the GM, Ebenezer Scrooge I believe was his name, refused to speak to me like a human being, probably because he was embarrassed and couldn’t tell me to my face that he wanted to take my money in exchange for nothing, and, instead, cowardly reverted to email wherein he had the audacity to try and guilt me into letting them keep my $100 because they’re a “small restaurant” and clearly need money they didn’t earn. That’s probably what enabled them to close down for two weeks while I assume the leadership of the restaurant enjoys vacation. I really hate that I have to write such a sarcastic and negative review, but I’m tired of being taken advantage of and seeing it happen to other honest people. As of this date, I’ve called and emailed numerous times to try and discuss the issue and ideally resolve it amicably, but the restaurant simply has ignored me after saying they were keeping my money. Anyway, everyone has so many choices nowadays and you should get value for your hard-earned money. Don’t give it to this bunch. They don’t deserve it, not with how they treat customers. I couldn’t tell you about the food, because I didn’t get to dine there, which I was considering doing until I had this awful experience.

Another overpriced restaurant in Vancouver...
Service was great.
Cocktails are good but not 25$+ good. Price can go even higher if you order a cocktail that comes "with a show", like the Caldera. Having twigs burning in a bowl where your cocktail lies will cost you 48$... Come on now.
Food is good, but not good enough to justify those prices. We tried to share plates to taste a little bit of everything, but also wanted to eat enough. We ordered the duck for 45$ the plate came with half a duck breast. For 45$. I was quite shocked.

Overall it's good food in a great atmosphere, but it's definitely overpriced for what it is. After splitting the bill, I was out of 130$ and still hungry, went back home and made myself some risotto...
I won't come back.

We had the tasting menu consisting of eight plates; six were savoury, and two were desserts. The food overall was good. Some plates were more elaborate, with ingredients, taste, and texture you do not encounter frequently. Two were nothing special, and I would classify them as “menu fillers”. The main dessert was exquisite, but the “pre-dessert”, a sherbet on a stick, was disappointing. It made us question why a skilful chef would ever give this to his customers.

Regardless, my main criticism is that the restaurant is overpriced for what it offers. We have been to many restaurants, including Michelin Star, and we know the prices vs. the chefs' skills. The set menu was $225 without alcohol pairing. A reasonable price would be $160-$170 for what you get.
In conclusion, the food is good, not exquisite, and the price does not match what you get on your plate. I would have scored more if the price was fair.

Took friends out to dinner here but was very disappointed with the food quality this time around. With all due respect this is not fine dining, it’s more akin to a well “dressed” meal at your local earls. Maybe 2 or 3 out of our 10 dishes were worth the price tag. The 3 star review mostly comes from our exceptional waitress who made the experience fun, with her deep knowledge of each dish and ingredient which also came with a story (shout out to Tanya).

Service was fantastic, nice ceramics, warm plates, new sets of knife and fork for almost every single dishes!
Food has great presentation! Yet flavor wise was quite okay. If you are familiar with Mexican, Peruvian food, there will be no surprise. Seasoning needs a bit more thoughts IMHO. The quality of the seafoods and meats were great!
Atmosphere wise was good, the space was tight but clean, very busy. The crews were lovely!

Food tastes great! Cocktails are very good! Service is excellent! Server explains each dish and cocktail and how it relates to Peru. So nice of the chef to describe the dish more.Very friendly ambiance. Fast service also and clean up after each dish. I took one star out because it is pricey for the tasting menu - $225. Will try the ala carte next time because the food is really good!

Nice reception and room, was surprised by the back room, reminiscent of L'abattoir.
Limited bar selection.
Scallop dish was...overwhelmed? Duck was fine, tartar not perfect.
