I was really excited to find a place with so many vegan options!
Food: the menu online differs in prices from the ones in store. I got the zucchini samosa, which was quite dry and smaller than expected. I originally wanted to order the veggie burger but the staff said it would take a long time to prepare.
Atmosphere: thought inside the shop is very cute with the pink tables and plant decorations, the lady working behind the counter didn’t seem to want to be there at all, the energy was very strange and that’s why I decided to get something quick to eat and leave.
Overall: I hope the energy switches up there because I’d love to try their other vegan options, but as long as their staff is in a bad mood I wouldn’t want them to make my food to avoid that negative energy transfer.

Sweet Cherubim is a Vancouver staple, both for groceries and some decent eats. With plenty of vegan options, I make regular trips out to The Drive to stock up on essentials like pumpkin and sunflower seeds, Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap, Whole Earth vitamins, and their amazing selection of spices and cooking staples that won’t leave you broke like other places (Whole cough cough Foods) ~ and where else can you get chickpea flour or black salt?
They also have ready-made eats if you’re hungry, or to take home for later. Jackfruit Sabji? YES PLEASE. And the samosas are legendary. I love that they have baked ones, many of them vegan as well.
The restaurant itself is meh. A bit cluttered and nothing to write home about, but you go there to fill up, not take a date and it never disappoints taste-wise.
The only thing I don’t love is that some items retain a curry smell, including certain desserts. A curry-scented Nanaimo bar is kind of gross, but you can’t win em all.

Chaotic dining experience. The servers seemed unfamiliar with both the menu and pricing. My partner ordered a side salad and a veggie roll, and after we had already sat down, he was told the side salad had run out — apparently it had been served to a customer who ordered after him.
I asked for a slice of lemon with my salad, and what arrived looked old and dried out, as if it had been sitting at the back of the fridge.
We also had to remind the server about our orders — I had to prompt them about my curry, and my partner had to do the same for the veggie roll. The food was average.
Service was very slow and disorganised, and the floors and tables were dirty. Also if you want to dine to techno/house/EDM then this is your place - not at all relaxing. Overall, not a pleasant dining experience and we won’t be returning.

I love stopping in for a bite when I am in the neighborhood. The green lentil soup is delicious, and the dessert variety is excellent. I just tried the cashew cookie, and it delicious.

Great take away samosas!!
A wide range of delicious options, mostly vegan and all vegetarian. Great place for a wholesome lunch followed by a parusing of the health food store.

Chai tea and 2 Indian pastries are real cheap, Under 8 dollars. I enjoy the East Indian music in the background.

I went today and I saw an employee clipping her nails. Like nails were flying everywhere 🤮
That’s really unhygienic.
I would not buy unsealed things from there.

We recently had a 5 day retreat catered by Sweet Cherubim and the food was delicious. Aman, the chef, took care of our needs, made a wonderful menu within our budget and our participants were so happy and well nourished. I highly recommend Sweet Cherubim for catered events!
