I've always liked Tableau. This time, we visited with a vegetarian friend and were surprised by how delicious their vegetarian options were. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options, but what they do have is really good.

Went for a business dinner. Service was excellent. The mocktails are pretty bad, tasted like a kid’s juice. I had the duck which was 10/10. Three of our party had the beef Bourguignon special which they said was over cooked and dry. The salt and vinegar Brussel sprouts needed salt and vinegar, they were bland.

Stopped by unexpectedly. Ended up having 2 bottles of wine, a couple cocktails, some oysters, eggs, and steak tartare. What a great happy hour. I loved the room, the food, but most the service.

We have been to Tableau three times before today on trips to Vancouver and I think this will be our last.  While we have always had excellent service, and the experience has been consistent, today we thought things could have been better.  We found it a bit tacky that at our arrival at 4pm (we had a reservation) we were told there is a two hour limit yet the service speed didn't reflect this time limit, it would seem that wait staff was spread too thin.  The dinner menu wasn't available during happy hour, but no mention of this when we made the reservation, this should be made clear.  Instead of having dinner, a bottle (or two) of wine, we had a snack and went somewhere else for dinner; a lot of missed opportunities.  It would seem that Tableau's apparent success has diluted their understanding of the term bistro, which is a short, yet comprehensive menu available all of the time.  I hope they can turn this around as the work in the kitchen has not suffered, they know what they are doing, but just have an identity crisis up front.

I use to love the hamburger from this restaurant but tonight I was so disappointed with the quality of the food and how portions getting smaller and price of the hamburger rising up!!I order take out from Tableau for more than 2 years, today when I saw my food I was so made and off..They asked me how you want your meat and I said medium well, oh god ? the ground beef was completely uncooked and rare inside to the point I put them in the pan and fry them for minutes, how much is pickled$$They cut the half a pickled to half.Food was cold because I waited for 10 minutes with ready food on the counter to pay and leave the restaurant.I will never ever go there or oder from them.I felt sick ? after I eat that sandwich.

We came here twice while vacationing in Vancouver, once for dinner and the next day just for drinks and dessert and both times we had exceptional service and food! The big cowboy steak was incredible, I dream about it. My boyfriend and I shared it and we ate every last bit of it, it literally just melted in your mouth.

Tableau is a gem of a French-style restaurant. The ambiance is charming, with a friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. The food is simply outstanding, offering a delightful taste of French cuisine. From start to finish, every dish is expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. A definite must-visit for anyone craving an unforgettable dining experience.

Visited once for dinner and again for brunch because it was delicious. The duck confit was very impressive and I "must" try the French Onion Soup. The service was also really good. Not a quiet atmosphere. A must visit place when you come back to

We stayed at the Loden hotel and tried both the dinner and breakfast menu at Tableau. Everything we had was so well thought out and refined. Our favorite was the mushroom toast but you really can’t go wrong with anything. The service was amazing and staff were very attentive, even gifting us an anniversary chocolate.

I don't often post reviews unless something is either exceptional or unfortunately just not good enough. Sadly his is not the first reason.I was there on Thursday with my Board of Directors (8 people) like we have done several times before. We have also had several Christmas functions here and my wife and I went to Tableau on many occasions with friends.I always like to start with the positives. As usual on this most recent visit i) the food was solid, ii) most of the staff were helpful and polite and iii) the wine markup is reasonable. Now for the reason for my review. We arrived at 6.30 pm on time for our booking and were shown to our table. Our first round of drinks arrived 35-40 minutes later despite me following up with the server at about 20 mins. Three people had ordered starters which arrived around 7.20pm and they were done with those by 7.30pm or so. Between then and the first entree plate arriving around 8pm I had a second conversation with the server who also sent the Manager to talk to me. (The rest of the entrees arrived over a ten minute period). I discussed my concerns with the manager who suggested it probably wasn't the server's problem but likely the kitchen. I suggested to him that whose fault it was was not my concern. He suggested that to fix it he would comp deserts, which I explained was not what I was looking for. One person actually did order a desert. (As I said getting anything comped was not my objective but I did have a smile when the one desert was there in the bill).Around 9pm a young lady who we hadn't seen before brought the bill. She informed me that an 18% was already built-in. I asked her to take the 18% tip out to which she quite smugly advised we that she couldn't do that as in BC the law say's they can charge an automatic tip in groups of six or more and "they all share it". ( I would recommend if there is more than five people in your group maybe consider two bookings so you can decide what tip is actually earned). We won't be back but who knows if you decide to come anyway you may actually have a good experience as I actually have before. Just don't expect a lot of accountability if it doesn't.

Would Return.A swanky vibe with a focused and tight menu that's within reach. Mostly catering to corporate lunches and maybe fancier date nights.Steak Tartare - don't really like chip versions, but it was just barely okay overall considering. There wasn't enough tang and too much cheese/grated yolk , so it was overall quite mild. Beef texture was perfect. Skippable.Bistro Steak - Decent, par for the course and price. Fries are cooked well and you have a choice of ketchup or aioli.Brussel Sprouts - Amazing. Deep fried until crisp and golden, tangy drizzle breaks the slightly greasy undertone.Overall, more of a corporate luncheon place but I can see myself coming back for a steak night on a date or with the guys. Takes AMEX. Expect $60pp excl drinks.

I think this is the most underrated restaurant in vancouver. It's the quintessential French bistro— with authentic French servers to boot! As a regular patron (I come here all the time), I can confidently say that the quality of both the food and service remains consistently excellent. One of the advantages of its underrated status is the ease of securing a reservation, event at the last minute; and so, for this reason and the aforementioned reasons, it's my default restaurant. *The mushrooms on toast is a must!
