We had a disappointing experience at Tacofino Kitsilano today. My friend and I came in excited for lunch, but were told by a staff member that we’d need to wait 30 minutes or more because an online order was being prioritized over walk-ins.
If the restaurant had been busy with in-person guests and we were asked to wait due to a backlog, that would have been completely understandable. However, it feels wrong for walk-in customers at the storefront to be delayed for online orders—especially when we were only ordering one burrito each.
Overall, it was very disappointing from a customer service perspective and felt dismissive of those who make the effort to come in person.

We just had Tacofino in Tofino the week before, and we stumbled on this location after visiting Patagonia. It was excellent, but without the 1.5 hour line 🤣 And they had drinks and single person clean bathrooms.

Usually, I don’t have problems with this location! Today was different, went there for take out, order 2 burritos, 1 taco and a tater tots and it took 47 MINUTES, like unbelievable!!! Some other orders that was taken after me was going out and I kept waiting, when I ask the staff member they said, it’s coming for like 3 to 4 times… I appreciate the cookie as an “apologize” but that didn’t buy me.. anyway, I thought I should come here to say to GM you might have to double check their staff on Sunday’s.. btw, it wasn’t busy at all :/

I had an amazing customer service experience 2 days ago! We no longer live in the city, so stopping in to get my fave Crispy Chicken Burritos is now a long but worthy drive!! The food is always great, the place is always clean, but that day I had the best customer service from Allana G! She took my order and we had a quick chat! I have mobility issues and requested a bag so that I wouldn't drop anything as I was getting a burrito and green salsa for my daughter too!! Allana brought my order outside and she was so pleasant that I introduced myself and asked what her name was? When I met up with my daughter and opened the bag, I saw that we had been blessed with our order, extra of my fave green salsa, napkins and a surprise cookie!! Wow!! Thank you for making my Tacofino experience extra amazing Allana!! You made the visit with my daughter extra special!! Janet
