AMAZING FOOD! Worth every penny. I got the vegan chickun burrito and my partner got the steak burrito and we LOVED it. This is the type of food that makes me happy to be alive because I get to eat tasty food like this. The whole meal I couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was.

I don’t know how Tacofino went from absolute favourite in the city to huge bummer, but here we are. I guess that’s what happens when places expand instead of putting care into a few well loved locations… My partner and I used to get burritos almost weekly, and Tacofino was always our go to for when we didn’t want to/couldn’t cook and with our kitchen packed up for a move, we decided to visit the Kits location last night. We both got the Miso Carnitas which is fave of mine from Yaletown I’ve had many times and was so excited to see on the menu there. When they arrived, they were ice cold first of all. I know some ingredients like cabbage are cold, but again I’ve had it before and that was another level of cold. Then we both took a bite, and the “crispy rice” was mushy and soft like it had been sitting there a while, the cabbage was flavourless and undressed literally straight out of a bag, and the little meat there was (that burrito used to be PACKED with pork, now it’s mostly cabbage with a tiny bit of pork in one corner) was PINK. Like not cooked. Disgusting. We got a refund and I am very thankful for the front of house for handling it very promptly and easily, but what a disappointment when Tacofino used to be amazing. It’s been a few times now between ridiculous portion sizes, missing ingredients or sauces, things not tasting the same, and I don’t know if I’ll keep giving you guys a chance unless it drastically goes back to the way it was. So sad :(

We had a disappointing experience at Tacofino Kitsilano today. My friend and I came in excited for lunch, but were told by a staff member that we’d need to wait 30 minutes or more because an online order was being prioritized over walk-ins.
If the restaurant had been busy with in-person guests and we were asked to wait due to a backlog, that would have been completely understandable. However, it feels wrong for walk-in customers at the storefront to be delayed for online orders—especially when we were only ordering one burrito each.
Overall, it was very disappointing from a customer service perspective and felt dismissive of those who make the effort to come in person.
