It was a little disappointing. Everything felt like it was covered in the same overly creamy sauce. The chirashi bowl did not have a sauce but was fishy tasting instead of clean and fresh. The aburi oshi was very strange. It was mostly sauce, I couldn't tell what fish was underneath. It was not at all like aburi sushi you would expect to find elsewhere.

I also felt like we were encouraged to order too much food. Everything was presented beautifully but I would say it was not worth the cost.

Everything about this place is spot on. Love that you can choose between local or imported uni—both are incredibly fresh and delicious. Great service and a nice, relaxing ambiance make it a fantastic dining experience.

Pretty similar and on par to all the other restaurants in this group (Raisu, new Fuji, kingyo etc) service is good, decoration and vibe is pretty distinct and cute, but the food is honestly nothing too special. Not worth the cost except if you really like uni or have a birthday to celebrate in my eyes.

The menu, was a bit complicated to navigate- but if you've been to their onigiri cafe.. it makes it easier. Maybe because the menus came in 3 different pages and double sided.. many in our group missed a few options.. suggest maybe binding the pages together- may alleviate some of the confusion.

Everybody loved what they chose.. and many were envious of the 2 who ordered the omakase..the mini "do-it- yourself" yakiniku setup was adorable! Uni Comparison Bowl (you getting to try BC Uni vs Hokkaido Uni) great to compare them both.

But the food was amazing..everyone in our group have expressed wanting to come back for a 2nd visit!

The service is dead poor here, and it’s not language barrier. It is due to inadequate training. The food and atmosphere are okay. The uni wasn’t that fresh, though. But for what they serve, the price is overcharged. I'm not sure why they call themselves Uni Bar when the Uni they serve isn’t good.

Takenaya in Gastown is a must-visit!
The lunch deals here are fantastic.
I tried the Ramen combo, which you can even add lobster to, and it was amazing.

The daily $28 combo is such a great value with a variety of items like sashimi, octopus, crunchy fish eggs, matcha soba, miso soup, and a customizable onigiri.

I also loved the kids’ menu – perfect portions of fried shrimp, karaage, pork belly, and fruit. Great flavors all around!

The cocktails were excellent, and they even have a party room for groups. Highly recommend for anyone in Vancouver.

Food was ok but very overpriced. Portions are a bit small too. Staffs could have more training. Parking was also inconvenient due to the location.

Overall food taste is great. However, staffs(all) are extremely undertrained.
Treat client with no manners and random disturbing behaviour during dining.
Would randomly leave plates on the table without explaining….

To be honest I tried all the restaurants for the same company and this one is the worst. You can’t believe they severed appetizers and the end. Food is not fresh as I thought. Service is awful, one worker dropped my chopsticks and she didn’t say anything.
