Complete satisfaction on the whole Thailand food experience. Servers were extremely attentive, very kind and well mannered individuals. The cutlery was simple, delicate, and perfectly arranged on the table. The furniture was new, and the bathroom was spotless. We were definitely the first to arrive, but the place filled up quickly. The food was at the perfect temperature, and the flavor... that signature flavor of Thai cuisine: delicious, plentiful, and at a really reasonable price. Highly recommended, although the place isn't very spacious.

When you step into the restaurant, it feels like you’re in Northern Thailand. The food was decent. Be prepared to pay with debit or cash if you don’t want to be charged a 2.4% fee for using a credit card. To be fair, I think they should inform customers in advance, since this isn’t a common practice compared to other cafés or restaurants.

Was excited to grab some takeout on our way to the airport and saw some high reviews…. Food was just ok and not quite the 4.7 that I was expecting. Still good, just not superb..

I always drove by this place but finally decided to order on DoorDash. The pad see ew with beef may be the best I’ve ever had. The noodles had the perfect soft and chewiness while still retaining flavour. The beef was not overcooked and very tender. The vegetables were also fresh and not too soft. Overall amazing dish would love to try their pad Thai next time

Talay Thai offers an exceptional dining experience that transports you straight to Thailand. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere sets the perfect tone for what becomes a memorable culinary journey.

The menu offers an impressive range of traditional Thai dishes, each prepared with remarkable attention to authenticity. The Pad Thai strikes the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors, while the Green Curry packs just the right amount of heat without overwhelming the delicate coconut base. The Tom Yum soup deserves special mention – it's a masterclass in balancing spicy, sour, and aromatic elements.

What truly sets Talay Thai apart is their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. The vegetables are crisp, the herbs are fragrant, and the proteins are cooked to perfection. The kitchen clearly understands that great Thai food relies on the harmony between fresh ingredients and traditional techniques.

The service is attentive without being intrusive, and the staff demonstrates genuine knowledge about the menu, offering helpful suggestions for spice levels and dish pairings. The portion sizes are generous, providing excellent value for money.

The restaurant maintains a cozy, authentic ambiance that feels both comfortable for casual dining and special enough for date nights or celebrations. The relaxed pace allows you to truly savor each dish and enjoy the company of your dining companions.

Talay Thai has earned its place as one of Vancouver's premier Thai restaurants. Whether you're a Thai food enthusiast or someone looking to explore authentic Southeast Asian cuisine, this gem offers an experience that will leave you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking genuine Thai flavors in Vancouver.

We really enjoy all the dishes at this restaurant. Salmon Curry from the specialty menu is delicious and the recent special Pad Grapao is my new favourite dish! Thai ice teas both are tasty. For dessert give the seasonal dessert a try, sticky rice and fresh mangoes 🥭. Always fast and friendly service! Thank you 🥰

Stumbled upon an incredible hidden gem while roaming along south Granville street: Talay Thai Restaurant! It's a family-run establishment and I loved the bright yellow decor which gave an authentic vibe which immediately drew me in. We started with their crispy vegetarian Spring Roll with plum sauce for dipping. Their Kaeng Khiew Waan (green curry) was a flavour explosion--spicy, fragrant, and perfectly balanced with the pillowy white rice. The Pad Thai with prawns hit all the right notes with its tamarind-infused deliciousness. I appreciate they use tamarind sauce as at other establishments use ketchup variation. And seriously, the Thai Tea was exactly what I needed (fresh and not too sweet).

Big thank you for having alternative rice! We opted for brown rice for my dietary needs.

Fantastic food paired with wonderfully personable staff makes this a must-visit! Already planning my next trip back.

I'm Thai/Lao and the food doesn't taste quite right. I grew up eating this type of food.

Ordered wings, yellow curry, beef basil stir fry, a bowl of rice and a side of sticky rice (meals do not come with rice so you have to buy them separately...).

Wings were dry but the seasoning was good. Curry was okay just a bit flat in flavour... and the beef basil stir fry, I hate to write this on a review but when I cook this at home I enjoy it more; beef seemed dry/overcooked and the dish was too salty.

And the fact that you need to buy your own rice ($3) is just.. I hate when restaurants make you pay for it when the dish obviously requires it. I don't know any asian that will eat curry or stir fry without rice. Also, my side of sticky rice was $6... I know it takes a long time to make but $6, wow...

I usually don't like to write reviews (especially negative ones) but I just really wanted a good experience and my wife loves Thai/Lao food and they're hard to find.

We ordered the pad siew, fried rice and the crispy pork belly. The crispy pork belly is not something we typically gravitate to but this was the best pork belly I’ve ever had.
