Such an incredible Mexican place, it feel very homey, so much attention to the details in the interior as much as in the food 🥰🥰 I didn’t want to leave
Delicious tacos with generous servings! Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu.
I finally made it to this place today. The food had some flavor and was ok, not great. I only gave you one star because the chicken mole tamale 🫔 had thick though, however, it had some flavor, but not the best. And especially, after I had the birria dish (about three days later), I had to edit my review. One thing I would recommend is, making the though a bit thinner. As they are, they would be better if they were to be accompanied with a side dish, such as pico de gallo. I just found them a bit dry, but as I said, they had some flavor. Also, you can add more mole on top, more than you already put on them, they need to be slightly drenched in that mole sauce. The tacos were quite big, tasty and with Mexican rice in them. The chicken mole was more enjoyable in a taco, rather than in the tamales. I ordered chicken mole, Azteca (vegetarian ), and lamb tacos, I liked them all and I would have them again, but after the birria disappointment, I’m not returning here. My food had no cheese or cream because I’m lactose intolerant, but some food items are served with either one. The atmosphere was great, colorful and very Mexican! There are Mexican products to take home, such as food, aprons, shopping bags, and even art made by local Mexican artists. I got a traditional Mexican apron and I love it. 🥰 Ever, the food server and cashier was extremely helpful and friendly. He is a great salesperson, I ended up buying some snacks to bring home, thanks to him! He needs a raise. Just saying! He is young and with a great attitude.
The bathroom was also decorated with beautiful art and colorful, not to mention, very clean and smelling good. It grosses me out when the bathroom at restaurants are dirty and smelling like urine. So overall, my experience was okay (until I tried the bland birria, see edit below), l will not return to try other items on the menu. Paid parking at the front, but I’m not sure that there is free parking at the back.
The best part was the traditional café de olla, Mexican style coffee with cinnamon and sugar in it…which I make every day at home. Thank you Ever, for making me feel very welcomed.
EDIT: (June 10th). I returned on June 5th to try other dishes. But this time I got so disappointed!! This tiny Birria dish was $21.50 and it’s served with three tortillas! I arrived hungry and left hungry, after spending $30, including $4.00 tip. Altogether, with a soda, I spent $30.25. Not impressed and I am not coming back, ever! I could’ve had a burger (good burger, a pho soup), for much less than that and would’ve left with a full stomach. You (the owner) have put the last nail on the coffin. Mexican restaurants are becoming so ridiculously expensive. Seriously! You charge $21.50 for a little bowl of broth with a couple of teaspoons of shredded meat and three tortillas? Wow! I let your friendly staff know about my disappointment and they tried their best to make it right. They offered me a tamal, but I already tried them on my first visit and I didn’t like them, they are NOT Oaxaca tamales. I’m a native from Oaxaca and that’s not how they are made. Your tamale masa is so thick, no baking powder? The masa isn’t fluffy, like it is supposed to be. They have me a little discount )15% off, but still, it didn’t compensate for the lack of flavor and size of the ‘birria,’ if we can call it that. Adios!
We ordered take out today and while we were waiting, the server gave us complementary watermelon juice-just what we needed in a hot day like today. She was super friendly, as she was the last time we ate in.
Had an excellent chile relleno dinner with some beans and rice served on a bed of chips, so a bit different! They use poblano, great! They have delicious home made sauces to expand the flavours. If you like it really spicy they have a macho sauce you can request. It was very different from what you typically find in a Mexican restaurant and reminded me of Asian chilli crisp. Lots of roasted spicy flavours.
Super nice service, great vibe in the place. It’s also a Latin provisions emporium with cooking spices and ingredients, treats, salsas etc. Tamales and fresh tortillas to take home in the fridges.
I enjoyed my food and the atmosphere and will come back to try more.
Love love love. I visit it every time I’m in town. The vibe is so comforting, like I just wanted into a Mexican household haveing a private dinner. Ivonne was fantastic and wonderful hospitality

Hi! My friend and I went there today to enjoy the delicious pan de muerto and granny’s chocolate. I highly recommend this place, it represents the authenticity of Mexican culture.

I don't recommend it. The tamales leave a lot to be desired, especially the green pork ones. They look like dog meat. I threw it all up. He left a photo without a very bad taste. The only one that was edible was the pineapple.

I have been to Tamaly Shop many times and it is my favorite store for Mexican food in Vancouver. Today I bought Pan de Muerto and Hot Chocolate, it was delicious. I am a person who is reconnecting with my Mexican heritage and the staff has been really amazing about it. They have taught me what to eat at different times of the year and, although my Spanish is not perfect (I promise I am trying), they are very patient and kind to me every time I visit them. If you haven't been yet, I definitely suggest you go.

I like the food from here but I wish they have more food options. I recommend you the chilaquiles and the enmoladas with a good café de olla.
I have also tried the horchata and Jamaica and are good.
The little store is also good, you can find some Mexican products and of course candies.
They also have a reward program!

I am writing to express my concern about the quality of a horchata drink I purchased at the Westminster Farmer’s Market. Unfortunately, the drink I received had curdled milk and an unpleasant odor, rendering it undrinkable.
I returned to speak with a sales representative about the issue, but I was disappointed by the lack of customer service. The representative simply mentioned that they would pass along my feedback and did not offer a replacement or any resolution. Additionally, I was told that the person who sold me the drink was no longer there, which did not address the core issue of the product’s quality.
My concern is not about individual staff members but about the product itself, which should meet basic quality standards. I also noticed that the drinks were stored on ice rather than in a refrigerator. In the summer heat, this raises serious concerns about food safety, as improperly stored beverages can pose a health risk. It was fortunate that we did not consume the drink, as it could have made us ill.
I hope this feedback can be taken seriously and that measures will be implemented to ensure proper product handling and customer service going forward.
