I was looking for a nice place that could accommodate a group of 5 last minute and scored a reservation online for about half an hour out, which gave us just enough time to get over there comfortably. It was very nice to have the reservation and skip the long walk-in line. We chose to sit inside instead of on the patio, because while the patio had a great view, it was loud. The inside was actually kind of interesting; they have a big wall of books (mostly older educational books) that we looked at after we ate. Washrooms are single-stall and clean. Our server was very friendly, although left us alone for a bit too long after we'd finished our entrees and wanted to order dessert, and eventually pay. The food was good. I got the ranchero rice bowl with tofu, and shared the fall special pumpkin pie bread pudding for dessert. Good flavours in the rice bowl. The cajun tofu was generously seasoned and a little spicy. The pumpkin pie bread pudding was a really unique way to enjoy pumpkin pie, and the tangy labneh centre was a nice touch. I definitely recommend trying this. One of my friends and I ordered the ube colada to drink. I was going to get the regular version, but when she ordered, she asked for non-alcoholic and I decided to switch to non-alcoholic after I found out they could make it. I thought it was okay but didn't taste much like ube, but she said she could taste the ube. We both found very sweet though; I bet the alcohol helps cut the sweetness in the regular version. I liked the whipped coconut cream topping it off though. Overall it was a good experience here and I would definitely go again with a group.

We enjoyed our dinner at Tap & Barrel last night! Lively vibe in a beautiful setting overlooking Vancouver Harbour. Super friendly service from the young staff. We shared veggie quesadillas to start then I had the fried chicken Mac & Cheesa and my husband had the fried chicken burger... all delicious and large portions. It's a great spot for beers and casual lunch & dinner.

We had a wonderful experience at tap and barrel last night. We were served by Noah, who was attentive and very knowledgeable. Food was amazing and clearly high quality. Thanks Noah and Tap and Barrel for a great experience!

The experience was wonderful. It was a bit cold on the patio but they turned on the heaters, which was very nice. The service was friendly and quick. Food was great. The price was reasonable to say the least, given the quality of food and location.

I've been to this restaurant three times during my stay in Vancouver; twice for dinner and once for lunch. Each time, the staff were welcoming and friendly, which makes a difference when you're travelling alone. The views from the terrace are superb, and the food is good.

I was very well welcomed by the hostesses. I told them I had a preference for outside and a table near water and don't mind waiting. They didn't guaranteed it but still they kept their word of trying to get me a table there which i really appreciate. Service was amazing by Fiona. Food was delicious and the beer selection excellent. Will come back for sure.

Food was good, however service was quite poor. Struggled to even get water refills. We also yad kids with us that got ice cream and after asking about it, we never got it and finally got frustrated enough with never seeing the server that we left without it.

Great location, staff were very accommodating re: patio seating with a view. For which I was grateful. Servers were friendly and efficient. One of my favourite patios on the waterfront.

I come to Tap and Barrel at the Convention Center location quite frequently and have always had a good experience. However, I had a very poor experience during my visit on Friday August 2nd. My friend got to the restaurant first to make sure we don't lose our reservation as I was running around 10mins late. I told her to start ordering for both of us so that we don't have to wait longer for our order to arrive. My friend ordered both of our food and my drink (16oz Parkside IPA) - the server refused to serve the alcohol saying that I need to be there for ID purposes. My friend then said she would just order the drink for herself and once I arrive we could do an ID check. The server refused again and said "sorry we cant do that because I know youre not drinking." This to me is extremely rude as my friend never said she wasnt going to drink for the entire visit. When I arrived to the restaurant I finally ordered the drink (16oz Parkside IPA) and my ID was checked. My beer took a long time to arrive - 10 minutes after I had ordered my beer, it still was not at the table. Our food arrived at 5:25pm which only left us with 5 more minutes for happy hour. I asked our server if I could order a second beer and she refused - she said since I didnt even receive my first beer yet, ordering a second beer would mean 2 drinks on the table which is illegal. I myself am a server and I know this is not accurate. I asked if I could order once the beer arrived and she refused again, saying that I had to be atleast half-way finished. She could have offered alternative solutions like serving the second beer at a later time but punching it into the system early to capture the happy hour price. I didnt argue and simply ordered additional food. It gets worse - when we got the bill, I noticed that I was charged for a 20oz beer (not the 16oz I ordered). When I notified the server, she told me that she thought I had said the 20oz and that the larger size was served. No offer to adjust the bill.

Our food took a long time to be served. It took close to an hr for our food. A member of our group did not have time to finish her lunch. She ate a few bites and had to leave. We had to pack up her food to bring back for her. We will not likely book future office events at this restaurant. But we had a wonderful server. She took care of our table and was very efficient at settling our bill with our group.

Only complaint was initially being seated. The person I was with showed up a bit early and they made him wait outside of the lounge area. Then I checked in and they didn't know where to place us. Then they asked us to stand over in the distance from where they were going to place us. They seemed very confused about the whole process. But once seated, our server was great, food was great, etc etc.

Was seated at a perfect patio table with views of the water. Server was courteous and attentive and food was great overall. Potatoes were not as crispy as I would have liked. Great value with brunch happy hour before 12pm.

Outstanding service; our server was very attentive, friendly, and looked after all of our needs. The food was marginal... But it was nice sitting outside with the view and the sunshine. The bathrooms leave a lot to be desired; very dirty and unkept

We were very pleased to be seated earlier than our reservation. The hostess was super nice and very accommodating. We did wait some time for a drink, and then when we did order, our appetizers came, and then shortly after followed by our mains. This is a bit of a pet peeve of mine because we very clearly said that we wanted them as appetizers, and our server even asked. This did not change our overall experience as we found the food to be top quality and it was a nice visit with family.
