Found a warm place to go for hot soup, and it's close to home. Oops, a shame what’s happened here to a once awesome pie shop. Tartine was purchased 5 or 6 years ago by True Confections which was itself recently purchased by Lin and Calvin Ma. This is what happens when a new owner, who doesn’t seem to understand the importance of quality, comes in and starts cutting corners to try to increase profitability. Today, I was met with a smiling cashier. She was very friendly. However I had several issues that came up which wasn't quite pleasant.
I understand it was busy but sitting outside, I had to come in multiple times to grab my orders of food. It was a bit frustrating because the items such as the sandwich and Shepard's pie was not marked at all sitting on the counter.
