Bland, boring, underwhelming food. Service is terrible. Totally missable place. Avoid!

I felt this is the best authentic Rajasthani food you can eat in Canada and infact I didn’t come across this type of food in most of usa either (I only lived and travelled in 18 major cities). The food quality is amazing. The portions are great and price is on higher end but definitely worth the food. Don’t shy away to ask more on the options they have. Place is bit small but serves the purpose and can be reserved ahead. They explain the food and how to eat if you are new to cuisine. Definitely a great place to hit the food in Vancouver BC.

Never ordering anything from there.I ordered aloo paratha and it had sand particles when I chew it.This shows their hygiene level. Don't risk yourself eating at this place.

Excellent food made with authentic flavors. I got the regular Thal that was extremely filling and worth the money spent. The service was great - kind, attentive servers. It felt like a nice meal with my family back in India.

My new favourite rice dish is the smashed rice with peanuts. Great first experience of this cuisine.

I went with very high expectations, as per the social media endorsements, but it was just regular indian type food...nothing much of rajasthani cuisine as it was promoted as.The thali had a good amount of food and refills of any 3 items are allowed. I was really expecting explosion of flavors as in rajasthani cuisine but unfortunately it was very bland. The decor was a little ok but they could have invested more on that.To be honest it seemed like they were more keen on offering food to the non indian tastebud which prefers bland and neutral tastes. If they really want to offer real rajasthani food...they have to be unapologetically original.

Amazing thali with near authentic flavours for all components! Pleasantly impressed. I’d recommend going with an empty stomach if opting for a thali because it’s a lot of food! Worth the experience ☺️

Tatta Chulha, W Broadway Vancouver tattachulha.comTatta Chulha Lunch at Tatta Chulha during the Diwali weekend Food is from the North Western State of Rajasthan, India. This is a unique cuisine offering, very different from the regular North Indian/Punjabi style which is more dominant in Lowermainland. Food is usually rich in Ghee, Besan (chickpea flour) and has rich flavors - sits heavy in the stomach. They have an AL carte menu but they are more popular for this Rajasthani Thali. Thali has about 12-15 items including the dessert and side drinks. 25.99$ Note: They take reservations online on Google. Some special items on the menu need to be pre-order a day before. No parking available on Broadway since its a construction area so need to find parking around Main street and walk up to the place. Vegetarian restaurant. Padharo Sa (Translation: Please come in )

Great food and even better service. We booked this place to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. She enjoys Rajasthani food and we had never been here so wanted to check it out.We ordered 4 Thalis and enjoyed every item in it. The food was tasty, not at all oily, and even after eating the whole Thalis it didn't feel heavy. After we finished they got out a special complementary dal halva to help make my mom's birthday even more special and played the birthday song for the whole restaurant to join in our celebration. We truly appreciated the hospitality, the ambiance and of course the food!

During our Vancouver trip we enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. First time I tasted Rajasthani cuisine, really tasty. Ambiance simple but good. Female staff friendly, courteous. Quick service.

The whole experience was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and gave us the taste of authentic Rajasthani food. The taste, ambiance and service made us feel right at home and the freshness of good quality ingredients came through every bite. I highly recommend the bedmi poori and aloo bhaji and the royal thali. The Chaas (spiced buttermilk) was the perfect accompaniment. The staff and the owner of the restaurant gave the best hospitality. The only recommendation I would give would be to maintain their restroom a little better.

I recently moved nearby and have been so excited to try their thali (which they offer all day!), I waited until my parents were visiting to bring them here. We got in no problem without the need to make a reservation (it looks like they’re rarely completely full) and had a really nice experience! My dad and I got thali (he got the regular Royal Thal and I got the Vegan) and my mom got a kachori tokri (sampler with moongdal kachori and matar kachori) since she just wanted a snack. I was torn between the regular and vegan since I really wanted the masala chaach for my drink, but when I told the waitress she said I could do with the vegan thal with the chaach, so I really appreciated that! All of the items in the thal were amazing! When our plates were brought out, the waitress took both my dad and I through what all the items were and the recommended pairings with the bread/rice. It was difficult to remember everything perfectly, but whether I got all the pairings right or not, I appreciated having an idea of the best way to combine the different dishes. My favourite vegetable item in the thal was the pumpkin and fenugreek, which wasn’t part of the regular thal (although the regular had chickpea flour dumplings in yogurt that looked amazing), so I’m glad I got the vegan, but I’ll get the regular if I go back to try more items! I usually order breads and no rice at Indian restaurants because most rice isn’t too exciting to me, but the rice pulao here was great. Also the whole wheat ladoo for dessert was so good! I’ve had a few ladoo but never with whole wheat and I loved how wholesome this was, it was much less sweet than others I’ve tried and a little earthy. Everything was flavourful but nothing was super spicy-hot (some items had a little kick and others were quite mild), so it should be safe for most people unless you’re extremely sensitive to spice. Even though we didn’t get free refills since not everyone at the table ordered thali, my dad and I were both very full without any refills. It’s really great value.I think it was just one waitress attending to all the tables, so it was difficult to get her attention at times, which resulted in a longer wait than we would have liked before ordering and paying, but if you’re looking for a very relaxed pace, which the atmosphere and cooking style seems to lend itself to, it might be an appropriate waiting time. Once we did order the food was ready pretty quickly. And otherwise our waitress was very courteous and did a great job. My parents aren’t vegetarian and my dad is a pretty big meat-eater even though they both eat lots of veg food with me, but the place was an especially big hit with him and my dad said it was one of those places where he didn’t miss the meat at all.
