So pleased that Tavola is open for brunch/lunch on weekends! The street side patio welcomes dogs and provides a calm and attractive dining experience for a summer day. Our server, Anita, greeted us warmly and provided both attentive service and excellent recommendations! The food and drinks were very high quality and enjoyed by all in our group. We are looking forward to a return visit!

This little neighbourhood Italian spot in the Westend often flys under the radar, but it’s well worth repeat visits. Their dishes are consistently fresh and delicious with excellent daily specials. The wine list is a little limited considering the calibre of food they offer, but one can usually find something decent at good value. The warm and inviting staff usually provide very good service in an atmosphere that is both comfortable and unpretentious. Some of the hits include: bigoli and meatballs, brick chicken and sticky toffee pudding.

Just flown in from New Zealand on a long flight. Walked downtown and stumbled across Tavola. Lovely place, lovely food & wonderful staff. Highly recommended

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Tavola last night!! With a neighborhood vibe, the layout incorporates outdoor seating, covered outdoor seating and of course indoors as well, an easy flow from one to the other and all with a refined comfort! We chose to eat at the bar, it was as comfortable, the bar top being deeper than most. Our meal was superb! The wine list , Italian Wines, was better than most, the bartender was infinitely familiar with the selections and guided us well to a lovely lighter cabernet. It was real clear too that the staff were joyful in their work rounding out our immensely enjoyable evening.

I recently ordered the Custom Vegetarian Gnocchi Cacio e Pepe and wanted to share some feedback.
While I appreciated that the server was friendly and attentive, the dish itself didn’t meet expectations, the gnocchi were notably very bland and lacked the bold flavors typically associated with cacio e pepe. It felt under-seasoned and didn’t deliver the characteristic peppery punch or creamy intensity I was hoping for. Also, it wasn’t the right proportion for the 1 person. It felt like appetizers for $30 which is really expensive for a small dish. I wanted to bring this to your attention in case others have similar concerns. Perhaps a slight adjustment in seasoning or cheese could help elevate the flavor. Thank you for offering a pleasant experience overall, and for taking the time to consider this suggestion.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. Everything on the regular menu is great, but I am always blown away by the delicious meat, or fish features. The servers are gems. If you are in the west end this is a must visit place.

When we ordered we asked if we could order a course at a time, but the waiter said it was better for the kitchen if we ordered all at once. We agreed and said we were NOT in a hurry, which he said was fine as they weren’t in a hurry and so wouldn’t rush us. He then brought our pastas when we had only had a few bites of our salad; offered to take them back and have them remade (SUCH a waste so we didn’t do that). He forgot one of the side dishes we ordered, and kept trying to take glasses and plates before we were finished. The restaurant was busy but NOT jammed. The food was only ok. I’ve had such lovely experiences there in the past so this was very disappointing.

Freshest burrata ever (and if you love burrata, you know how hard it is to find a good quality one in Vancouver)! On par with the top quality ones you can get in Italy. Amazing quality tomatoes in the pasta sauce and also, just really well paced and attentive service.

cute little old world Italian cafe that serves up some incredible pasta dishes, fantastic side plates and the friendliest service. A small space near Stanley Park in a very cute neighborhood with a nice size outdoor patio.

Awful experience with server Anya and general manager regarding a health and safety concern.
I was using the shared washroom when I saw the server coming out of the stall and leaving without washing her hand, I didn’t know she was a server until I saw her touching glasses and serving water which made me uneasy.
When I brought my concern in a very discreet manner to the supposedly general manager he didn’t believe me and went to talk to her.
The server came back to confront me and with an attitude told me that she went to the men’s washroom to wash her hands (????), I said I didn’t know her and I hope she understood from a customer perspective eating at a restaurant how that situation can be seen. She then came back again, with a harsh attitude saying “the guy in white saw me washing my hands” and left. That made me uncomfortable and I asked the name of the server to write a complaint. She the. Came back one more time and said I “didn’t have to right a review” and proceeded to call me immature.
I asked why she was giving me an attitude and that she didn’t have to, she said the staff is her “family” and the general manager got involved and told me “that’s not gonna fly in here you can leave”
Such a horrible, horrible experience begging to end. It was my first time there and I’ll make sure the owner is aware of the poor taste of the management to let the staff confront guests in such an aggressive way. Being called immature and being asked to leave for pointing out a safety issue is beyond ridiculous. If anything manager should have to apologize that I paid customer witnessed a staff member use the washroom and not washing their hands in the first place. I don’t know these employees, I’m a customer who is aware of what should be done in an establishment that serves food. I’ll get to the bottom of it, I’m extremely disappointed and shocked. A report has been made to safety department. Wrong in so many levels, the entitlement of the staff is beyond ridiculous.

This was our second visit to Tavola, and once again it was a great experience. Dinner was wonderful! The service was very welcoming and attentive throughout the evening. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio, such a charming spot, and the interior has a warm, cozy ambiance that’s perfect for a date night if you prefer to sit inside. We're lucky to have such a great Italian restaurant close to home. Tavola has definitely become one of our go to spots for a relaxed and special evening out.
