Very delicious tendon with a calming atmosphere and friendly service. It can be busy at peak times, but it's very peaceful a bit later at night.

Insane tempura with unique side options. any of the tendon sets are amazing my favorite tempuras are the soft boiled egg and unagi. Chawanushi is delightful, and wings are crispy and spicy. A restaurant that makes me realized the treasure trove of japanese food is vancouver

Tendon Kohaku in downtown is such a gem for Japanese comfort food. The anago tendon was outstanding—light, crispy, and full of flavor. The classic tendon delivered that perfect balance of tempura and rice, while the deluxe curry omelette was rich, hearty, and absolutely satisfying. I also tried the Japanese beef rice bowl, which was tender and flavorful, a real comfort dish. Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and the service is warm and friendly. Definitely a spot I’d love to revisit!

I was really excited about this restaurant as I am a big fan of tendon. Unfortunately, although the tempura was okay, all the rest ended up being so-so. The pumpkin soup was chalky, the rice mushy and the salmon roll flavorless (the salmon looked like it was frozen too long)...

One of the best restaurants i've been to during my 1 week in vancouver. very nice tempura eels and runny eggs. the hokkaido ice cream is nice but it takes time to make so better consider that if lots of people are ordering it. might need to wait for 20 minutes during lunch time

My go-to when I miss my home! I love the Classic Tendon and Chawan-mushi. Sushi is not the only Japanese food, people! 😋

Popped in for a late dinner. It was very delicious!

Knocked a star off service because I didn't love the iPad ordering system; felt a little impersonal and it wasn't totally clear that we needed to use it to order.

Portions were very large. I ordered the anago tendon and it was huge and very good. Asked for tempura sauce on the side. I forgot to order the set combo (refillable rice, soup and salad), but it worked out because the portions were massive.

Finished off with the soft serve, which was reminiscent of Hokkaido milk ice cream. Great meal all around.

Food was really good. Service was terrible, if I could give 0 stars I would. Waitress comes by and tells us that they’re doing last call for ice cream. We tell her that we do want to order ice cream. She tells us to put the order into the tablet, so we do. Waited 25 minutes before we asked where our ice cream was, they said the ice cream machine is closed. I said, yea the waitress told us last call so we ordered, waiter says we don’t have any order for ice cream. I show him the order on the tablet. At this point I was tired of arguing and said just cancel it. How are you going to tell us last call, hear us tell you we want to order and then not check on us? The fact that the restaurant relies on the machines and still get it wrong is diabolical. 5/5 for food but 0/5 for service.

Our CPR class ended earlier than expected, so we went looking for an affordable Japanese restaurant and stumbled upon this spot. Surprisingly, it was really good and much cheaper than other restaurants in downtown. I truly enjoyed it! Their sauce is the star ingredient, which makes their dishes so flavorful. Definitely going back to try more from their menu.the staff are very attentive.

If you like tempura then you are in for a treat. The tempura are well fried and portions are large. Love getting the bottomless sides to round out the meal and get some greens with all the fried food for just 2.99!

Service is simple using a tablet near the table, and decor is simple and beautiful. If you get udon always XXL as cost is the same. Portion is about same but the experience of a giant bowl is very fun!
