Rice is too old
This place deserves less than one star I waited 30 minutes and then finally got tea only to be ignored yet again when I wanted to place my order this place is absolutely garbage from the food to the wait staff. Save your self the time and indigestion.

Great spot for some really good Japanese cuisine.
One of the only spots I’ve found that offer tonkatsu.
It’s a pretty delicious spot for a decent price.
Staff is super friendly.

I have ordered from here many times and finally dined in over the weekend. Busy, but had no trouble getting a seat - it’s pretty big inside. The food and staff were all great!

Oshi Sushi, Ika Sugatayaki and Yuzu Highball that I would definitely recommend.
Service was amazing very attentive and charming.
We would definitely come back as the food is super tasty and well priced for what it is.

The 1st time I went after they changed owners. Quality has decreased quite a bit and a entire new menu. What used to be a great restaurant with big or awesome portions have become small. We were served very very salty miso soup for some of the orders that included it, we had to ask for a few cups of hot water to be added into it. Lunch and dinner bento boxes have had portions become smaller. The sashimi slices have also become smaller while increasing the price dramatically. This placed used to serve bigger slices. The chicken teriyaki plate used to have 2 thighs, now it's just 1½ spread out across the grill plate with space gaps. I have never seen any Japanese restaurant elsewhere in Metro Vancouver place the chicken like that. It was a disappointing experience, we would have gone across the street to Nanaimo Sushi.

Really want to give 3.75 stars because the Salmon Oshi and special rolls are very good. Chicken Teriyaki Don was okay - but the meat was piled on top of the veggies which was piled on top of the rice instead of the customary separation - had to dig around to separate it which was messy. Service was weird tonight.
1. Asked what the difference between Chicken Teriyaki Don and Chicken Teriyaki with Rice was (there was a slight price difference). Server said the Chicken Teriyaki Don had no vegetables but the Chicken Teriyaki with Rice does. WRONG. Had vegetables! Still not sure what the difference is - one in bowl, the other in plate? Identical in essence except for price?
2. When food arrived, all the servers asked within the space of 10 minutes, "Is the food okay?". Sometimes, a little less interference while eating and conversing is nice.
3. While we ate, they kept clearing every dish away and asking if they could take it - more interference while trying to have a conversation with my friend.
4. At the end, I told the server I'd like to pack the leftovers home (one tiny box was needed only). Her first question was if I needed a takeout bag. I said i just need a takeout box'. And again she said 'do you need a takeout bag'. Again I said 'i need a takeout box'. Finally, she said, 'you need a takeout box' and then she went to get me the box. Not sure I've ever had anyone suggest I need a bag before a box.
Will I come back? Probably. First time the service was better in the sense that we could have a meal in peace (different servers) - very standard service. Liked the Oshi so much came back again. If there is a third time and we have constant questions about how the food was before we even tried all the dishes, and servers hands coming in front of our faces to take dishes while we eat - will need to reconsider the dine-in option. Though most of the food was good, my friend found the experience uncomfortable because of the service . . . and one does not want to take a friend to places where they feel uncomfortable.

Changing my review, this restaurant has really gone downhill. Quality has not be the same as when they first changed ownership. I used to say it was the best in the neighborhood. But, no longer.

Whoever is rating this place 1 star must be confused, or maybe the restaurant changed owners? I ordered an Oshi Platter on Uber Eats and was blown away by the quality and variety of the product. Everything was delicious, flavourful, and beautifully presented. I will definitely be stopping by to dine in, in the near future.

The quality of food was very low. Soy sauce and Tuna tasted sour couldn't finish the meal. Won't come back.
