Honestly an outstanding breakfast and certainly somewhere I will be going back to when I am in the metro Vancouver area. First, I love the atmosphere of Davie street and the vibe of the restaurant and the staff were there to match! I don't usually eat breakfast because I am not a hugr fan of most places menu but this was just the right balance. On top of that, the portions of our meals were very good and the food was top notch. Overall this is a must try for anyone who lives in Van or who is just visiting!

Honestly it was pretty bad for the price. A little salt or butter or a sauce would go a long way. The breakfast sandwich was dry. I live a block away and The Basic will be a pass :(

I love this place, they have a lunch/brunch menu with a lot of options. Their food is tasty, abundant and fresh. It's not expensive at all, the staff is super friendly. I recommend visiting this place if you can! ?
Excellent breakfast!Service was quick and friendly.The location on Davie street is perfect for this little breakfast place, it's a nice walk down Davie if you can't find parking nearby, it has a comfortable family friendly feeling to it.Worth the Trip!

This review is based on (attempted) takeout only...The food has always been good... never had a bad meal.What I find most frustrating about this establishment is their hours of operation.They advertise being open until 3pm but, on more then one occurrence - especially in the past month they have closed early.As such, I am reluctant to continue supporting this establishment.To the Owner: stay open for customers who want food after 2:30pm or change your advertised hours so your (remaining) regulars know "when" you will still be available to serve.

Service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is casual and quiet. It was very busy, but they got us seats right away. I had the brisket Benedict and it was delicious!! I highly recomend stopping in here for brunch!

Basic breakfast at its best! Had a late night and need some fatty carbs, this is your place! I usually get the veggie sausage with no eggs and a side of avocado, with all the coffee. They adapt to egg free requests nicely, despite having an egg on the door. It looks and feels like a breakfast diner should. On warmer days, you can sit on the patio. Service is always really fast and friendly.
