This coffee shop is a real gem. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. The coffee is excellent. The food, especially the sandwiches are delicious. All the baking is great too. Surprisingly lots of space and very comfortable. One of my favourite coffee shops in the city.

Had a lovely breakfast today. We both had the avocado toast. Fresh made sourdough ? Quite a thick slice, I might ask if we can request a thinner slice? (personal preference) loved the pickled onions, gave it a nice kick. This was also almost half the price of our other Gastown favorite... I thought the water station was so cute, with the plants below, to catch the extra water drips.

A taste of Yaletown pretense and attitude right here in Gastown. The room is fantastic and the pastries and food are delicious. But every time I've been in here it feels like I'm asking them to do a big favour for me. There are no dramatic sighs or anything... just indifference. This morning my favourite team at Milano Coffee (directly across the street) was overwhelmed with a rush, so I popped over to B&B for my morning fix. Turns out I was there five minutes before opening. The fellow at the counter took on the burden of accepting my money for a latte, rang it up and walked away before I could even order a pastry.I get it. The team was in their groove before their shift getting the place set up and looking great. So, I made sure to give 20% tip for my $5.00 thimble of coffee in respect of that. The fellow announced and handed me the coffee, but before I could utter "thanks so much, I appreciate that", he had about-faced and walked away.I've clearly been put in my place... which is Milano. I should have just waited in line over there - my day would have started off much better.

? A Taste of Comfort in Gastown: Birds & The Beets ??? Walking through Gastown this morning, I was drawn in by the charming "&" logo sign of Birds & The Beets. It felt like an invitation I couldn't ignore! The vibe inside was instantly welcoming, making me feel right at home. ?☕ The friendly staff greeted me with warm smiles, adding to the cozy atmosphere. I decided to try the Egg & Avocado Toast, and let me tell you, it was a decision well made! The toast was beyond delicious, perfectly complementing the exquisite coffee they served. And the price? Totally reasonable, which is a breath of fresh air. ??? One tiny hiccup was the cost of paid parking in Gastown, but honestly, the experience at Birds & The Beets made it worth every penny. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu! ?? See you again soon, Birds & The Beets! Can't wait to dive into more of your culinary delights. ?

I'll start by saying we LOVED the food and in fact re-ordered our breakfast in the same seating given it was so delicious. However, for the next two days we had severe food poisoning. The worst part is one of us is pregnant and there is a high chance we may miscarry because of this.On our way to the restaurant we smelled and stepped in human piss and feces. We told ourselves it's fine as long as the inside is clean.I guess we were hopeful. We aren't living a third world country and to get this sick from a brunch/breakfasts is unacceptable.

Please, I beg of you, bring back the pickle toast. ??I used to have it at least once a week and feel like one of my limbs has been severed. The phantom limb that is pickle toast HAUNTS me.(Great cafe, chill atmosphere, lots of natural light, lots of happy people making noise, good music, vegan options.)

Cute coffee shop, we got the chicken sandwich and breakfast sandwich and both were great! The bun they come in is sooooo soft it was delicious! The drinks were just meh, my partner is diabetic and they only have real sweetener options and limited options if you only drink tea. But if you like real coffee and sugar then it’s prob great! The atmosphere was chill and the staff were friendly!

I picked this spot because it was recommended in a blog post as a good coffee shop to work at. I liked the atmosphere but the internet was weak.
