Terrible service. Our server was so slow and barely checked on us. She was also rude. and table was dirty.
The pub was decorated really well. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Server and food were great! We'll be back. 🎃
Decided to try the black lagoon halloween popup. The place was dead, the drinks were terrible and they were event out of about 4 drinks on an already small menu, and lots of wine and other options. They blamed it on the strike but other bars were not out of anything so it does not make sense. This halloween experience was a 0/10. Literally everything could improve.
We came for a Halloween pop-up that was so much worse than regular people's Halloween parties. They didn't even bother trying to make it an actual experience despite the marketing — literally just a sports bar with a few Halloween decorations. They didn't even bother to turn off the TVs, or make it spooky, or serve any of the Halloween drinks in cool glassware. Expensive for what it is.
We went for the Black Lagoon pop up which was underwhelming. It seemed like an excuse to increase the price of drinks (which were not great). The food lacked flavour. The host and bartender were friendly but our server seemed uninterested and dismissive. Would only recommend for a pint to watch a game on the big screen.
It was a fun early halloween themed pub Came with my friend and her husband They played halloween ends? On the tv screen
There was no staff to greet us and show us to our table- we waited for a while but then had to search for someone to help in the middle of the restaurant. They still seemed reluctant, but eventually we got seated for the reso we made. The Halloween decorations were nothing to write home about, and I often decorate better in my own apartment. The spooky cocktails were limited and most of them had bitters (if you dislike bitters, tough luck). I'm not sure if I would go back.
Best pub in Vancouver, hands down.

Cozy, fun interior. Great bartenders!
Pub grub. I was disappointed. I expected more of a British pub but it wasn’t. Should have checked the menu. The food was good but it wasn’t what I was looking for.
Came here late after a gala and the staff were receptive for my group of 10, easily grabbed a table (it was week night) and the staff helped us with buckets of drinks even though bulk ordering was not their preference, they delivered!
Went to Butcher & Bullock with some friends and had a great time. The vibe was chill and fun, perfect for hanging out. Shoutout to our server Nicole—she was super nice and really took care of us. Definitely planning to come back.
In June of 2024, my family of 12 stayed at the Days Inn. We had traveled all day and didn’t want to go far for dinner. We were heading on a cruise and walked to the hotel from the train. The lady that greeted me informed me that the four children traveling with us couldn’t sit inside due to their age. She then called around to other restaurants to see if they could accommodate us? She even walked me to another restaurant to talk with them. So after getting denied, she then suggested doing take out and brought us all menus to look over as we sat in the Days Inn lobby. We ordered their pizzas and rosemary fries. We took all the food back to our rooms and ate in there. It was great and we appreciated going above and beyond to still make sure we could eat. Thank you so much Butcher!
