Master of all things Tea, Dan Lui, shares the proper preparation for a classic Chinese pour. The range of both knowledge and single-sourced teas is mind boggling! His passion and attention to story-telling opens up a whole new way for experiencing tea….

Stepping into this place that my daughter introduce me to, a magical place; a charming tea salon where the owner, Daniel, welcomes you with subtle, charismatic attention and an impressive knowledge of Chinese tea culture.

With great passion, he showcases Chinese treasures used in traditional tea rituals, which he performs right in front of you. Every movement is filled with elegance, turning the ceremony into a unique experience. I had the chance to taste some of the most exquisite flavors of Chinese teas, which captivate not only with their taste but also with the artistry, symbolism, and stories behind their preparation.

Even the teacups carry meaning, offering a small reflection of who you are as you hold them. The whole setting feels enigmatic, as if time slows down to honor the royalty of an authentically unique and special ceremony.

Before leaving, I discovered beautiful tea balls—little works of art that, once placed in hot water, gently bloom into a stunning display of fragrance, color, and flavor.

I absolutely loved finding this hidden gem tucked away in Vancouver’s Chinatown—easy to miss if you just walk by, but unforgettable once you step inside.

Place is amazing. The process. The tradition and ritual is relaxing and super interesting. And the tea is like nothing I’ve ever had!

Me and a friend of mine visited Vancouver from the Portland area this week, and on the recommendation of some tea friends in Portland we spent an afternoon with Daniel tasting tea. We were totally blown away by Daniel's skill, depth of knowledge and general hospitality. It was such a joy to visit this shop, and the tea and teaware on offer is exquisite, refined, and reasonably priced. Can't wait to visit again.
