What a wonderful, truly neighborhood coffee shop! It's very unique and full of character, with an array of goodies to buy while waiting, mostly sourced locally. It was a delight to witness some of the food being prepared on the spot. Though the place was busy, there was plenty of seating outside. The service was a bit slow, and it took some time to get our drinks and food, but I don't think this is the place you come to if you're in a rush. This is the spot where you can properly savor your time, especially in favorable weather. I will definitely come back

They forgot my Corrado until I went back to the counter and asked after waiting for about 20 mins. No 'sorry ' or 'thanks for waiting' when they brought it to me, just a very quiet 'here'. They also wrongly prepared my food to go instead of eating in. They are lucky I had already tipped 20% upfront, wish I could get that back. Food was tasty but wouldn't go back again.

《HOT CHOCOLATE FEST ENTRY》- suntory time hot chocolate = $11.50 -You don't usually see white miso inside of hot chocolate, but somehow The Federal Store made it work! Their entries for this year's Hot Chocolate Fest were all super unique, but the Suntory Time was the one that caught my eye. ?It featured white miso brown butter mixed into 66% dark chocolate ?, creating a smooth and decadent beverage. ☕ With each sip, you got a bit of the salted, whiskey roasted pecan on the rim, to round out the sweetness of the hot chocolate. The mini s'mores cupcake served on the side was so good too. I wish they had one in full size ?. The meringue butter cream was lightly torched and topped with crumbled graham crackers. The cupcake itself was made of super moist devil's food cake. So tasty! ?

Suntory Times ($11.50) white miso brown butter hot chocolate served with mini s’mores cupcake. One of the better unique hot chocolate I’ve tried during the festival. The smoked salt and whiskey roasted pecan around the rim also added another layer to the drink. Cupcake itself was also super rich in chocolate flavour.I actually live around the neighbourhood and have visited a few times before. Really like the ambiance and cozy interior. Their coffee is quite nice (a tiny bit sour though) but I remember their sandwich was pretty bland. The biscuit had a nice buttery texture, but the eggs and bacon were both cold and tasteless.

Came here for chocolate festival in January 2024, and I only had the festival drink. I know it’s chocolate and it’s supposed to be somewhat sweet, but I felt like it was too sweet. It was also served with a small dessert on the side which is a really nice touch but the drink was too sweet to have dessert with it.It also felt like $11 is a bit costly for a drink

This is such a cute gem of a cafe. They have a small breakfast menu and a nice drink selection. I went during the hot chocolate fest, and their Suntori time hot chocolate and cupcake was delicious. The atmosphere was wonderful. They have little artisanal treats available, too. There are non-dairy milk options, as well. There is a surprising amount of seating indoors and outdoors, but it certainly isn’t big. I definitely recommend this cafe!Vegetarian options: Non dairy milk and pastriesDietary restrictions: Vegan milk

I absolutely love the Federal. I live on Quebec so I’m very much a regular, like everyday. The staff are warm and welcoming and the baked goods/tomato soup are just so damn good. They have seasonal options and they recently expanded into grocery. Only feedback is the lines get a bit long on weekends but that shows how liked they are!
