Best fish and chips in Van. Had two hungry boys with me and they loved it. Great food, great vibe and the counter seating is a good spot for people watching. Service is friendly. Highly recommend!

Always love myself a great fish and chip as I rarely eat it. So when I do, I want quality that will make me happy and come back again. Nothing worst the. Soggy batter and fries. They make it trash and crunchy as it should be.

I visited here on August 1st on Friday to use up my gift card. I didn't get a chance to go when they were closed. I ordered an Oyster Po Boy, fries and a drink which came to total of $27.10.

It was messy to eat Po Boy, but that wasn't an issue. Baguette was so crunchy on the outside it was perfect! There was some arugula, kimchi and 3 pcs of oysters in it. I also ordered fries it was huge! Fries were bit salty and overcooked I tossed it out in the end.

I left my water and soda to drink them later after heading to washroom. Staff cleared my water and soda away. I still had half of soda in it. I felt thirsty after eating my food in the end. It'd have been nice if she asked me first before clearing dishes. I don't think I'll go back.

Today’s fish and chips were not that crispy. Fries were also soggy as well. Expect fresher fries to be honest.

The Fish Counter in Vancouver is generally praised for its fresh, sustainably sourced seafood and high-quality fish and chips. Many reviewers highlight the light, crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish, and delicious house-made tartar sauce. There are also positive comments about the friendly service, especially for those with dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free options.

A shop with a fish market and kitchen.
God bless this place. What a great concept and addition to main street eats. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Chowders are lovely and comforting. Today I got the po boy sandwich. It is so gooooood, and messy lol. To my surprise I found out that there was kimchi in it! What a great twist/ combination. Sandwich also came with some pickled cabbage. They take your order at the till, then when your food is ready they call your name. This place doesn't have much chairs or tables so just be aware. It's pretty much street food style, order and eat by the windows or outside. They always have fresh seafood coming in daily. They also prep sauces and soups as well to bring home to enjoy!

Tasty fish and chips, we went because they had a gluten free breading option. The food was good and you could tell they care about delivering you quality food.

Mostly takeout fish 'n chips, fish tacos etc.
The fish (I had cod) was lovely, lightly breaded-salt it yourself-chips okay. Slaw basic- esp to my southern USA taste bud could have used some vinegar and sweet or something for zing.
Was just the ticket for some verification tired travelers. Friendly, prompt counter service.

My group all got fish and chips, with high reports. I had the Salmonito and was delighted from the first bite to the last! Great fusion food and a nice change from the deep fryer.
