Great depth of flavour in the matcha latte. The grizzly chai latte was beautifully spiced, highly recommend both. Also got a chocolate chip cookie. Cakey, but good flavour. Will definitely return to try other items.

Used their 2nd floor venue for my baby shower and really wish it would have gone better than it ended up being. Long story short: if only the staff cared to be helpful, that would have helped.
Pros: The space is lovely. Perfectly private and we're thankful they had ample tables, chairs and seating.
No issues with (free) street parking. (We had our event on a Sunday)
Cons: Disappointed with their service. Or as my friends said "What service?"
I had called in at least twice to confirm extra cutlery and napkins were available as we ordered catering through the venue, plus brough extra food on top of it. They tell me on the day of our event that they don't provide that and we were scrambling until they reluctantly gave us some disposable plates and forks.
I was also told the speaker system is enabled through Bluetooth but that wasn't the case. I didn't get any assistance on how to use their sound system (only a finger point to where it was). No matter how many of us tried to make it work, it never worked. Luckily, my sister brought a portable speaker that rescued the situation.
Lastly, we left behind baby onesies my guests painted as an activity for our party. I wish the staff would bother to communicate with each other or to myself directly about the missing items. By the time I received a call back, the saran wrap they placed on the wet paint had stuck together. This caused the designs to be smudged, peeled off or plastic bits stuck on.
Pretty disappointed by the indifference of the venue people. It's noticeable in their actions they don't care.

Been coming to the garden for almost a year now and definitely would not return after my last visit since the prices are the only thing rising in this area of downtown east side.
The size for the coffee cups are ridiculously small for how much you pay.
A nice surprise find in East Hastings area. Lots of green plants, mini art pieces, and a section dedicated to a cute artisanal shop. Really great ambiance to chill and catch up with friends. We had just eaten so just got some tea and chai latte. I wish the chai latte was stronger but this was definitely more a Western style take on the drink.
Apparently they can also accommodate special events so check them put if you are planning something!

When you walk in you will have to do a double take, its like a nuzzled away secret garden. I am actually obsessed with their shortbread cookies. And shortbread cookies aren't even my overall favorite cookie.
The frittata is a must.

Lovely vibe. Lovely people.and great coffee. Their shortbread melts in your mouth and chocolate banana bread are go tos. They also make vegetarian frittata on the weekends (next level, huge portion). And you can shop candles, incense, plants, jewelry. Long live the matriarchy. Everything I’ve tried from The Garden brings me joy.

The Garden is one of the best places to visit in Strathcona. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service makes me feel right at home.
I’m a huge fan of their kale caesar salad, mushroom bowl, and delicious baked goods. Their menu is created with fresh, sustainably sourced ingredients which makes me love them even more.
If you’re looking for a cafe to enjoy tasty drinks and healthy food options, this is the place for you!

Got the vegan scramble and it was amazing. I wish the portions were a bit bigger considering the price but it was still filling. Really pretty place to visit and the atmosphere was great!
Vegetarian options: They had many different vegetarian or vegan options!
