I am straight female that was there on my mom’s 60th birthday. All of her friends laughed and agreed and the vibe was very friendly. I’m an extrovert, so being friendly and making friends when I’m out is normal for me.
I’ve lived in Australia and NYC - this is normal behaviour in every other city. The staff soon after told me I was inappropriate and I was super surprised and so confused. I asked to talk to the manager and he told me I was inappropriate then told me he’d be grabbing my bill and asked me to leave. I told them I was just complimenting the lady next to me. Again, I was with two 60 year old women so it was not a rowdy situation.
In all my life, I have never been kicked out of any establishment. I guess now I can say I got kicked out of a restaurant for giving someone a hug and a kiss on the cheek (I still can’t believe it). I have lived in Vancouver for 13 years and have been to the Keefer many times. I will never be back.

Came in yesterday for the first time for a birthday and was disappointed. Definitely not worth the price. The drinks were too strong and short and came out significantly faster than the food multiple times. Service was mediocre. Had a reservation for 6 people and they sat us at a 4 person table with a stool at the end and added a 25% autogratuity on top of the bill, which we felt was a bit steep. I’m all for an autograt but 25% felt excessive for the experience we all had. Will not be back. Definitely go to tiki room instead of this place

In addition to savoring unique cocktails like Toyko Drift, Sweet & Sour Sour and Cookie (YUM), I was treated to genuine hospitality by Tristan, the Assistant General Manager and the Dynamic Duo behind the bar: Mixologists Asya and Virginia.

The best cocktail bar in Vancouver by far. We make a point to come here every time we are in Vancouver, and are never disappointed. The entire menu is so creative, and drinks are always fantastic. The vibes are super cool and it’s just a fun place to hang out.

Ahhh, I hadn't been back to my old haunt the Keefer Bar for some time - and it did not disappoint when I took my niece to introduce her to the finest cocktail bar in Vancouver. We had a play to get to so our server was accommodating and friendly with excellent advice on which cocktail to order based on tastes of certain liquor etc. Kathleen was an excellent server, the ambience was still charming and the cocktails were complex and deluxe. We'll be back, now 2 generations of our family love this place!

The small food menu has snack items with vegetarian friendly options.
Service is outstanding every time.
They have live music some nights, if you're lucky you might catch Mark Woodyard playing like I have a few times now.
A cozy little bar that's great for a date night.

Amazing little spot in Chinatown! The drinks were unreal and our bartender was superb. We tried at least 8 unique cocktails and were blown away by the flavours. The live music was a bonus! Can’t wait to return!!
