Based on a friend's recommendation, I took my 3 UBC students to Dada & normally, I shy away from sushi ... but WOW -- all of us found our choices amazing - starting with an excellent appetizer sampler to California Rolls to Beef Unon to Chicken Teriyaki -- every dish was a winner

Had the Omakase Menu and it was delicious, highly recommend and a great deal at $60pp. The Aburi sushi in particular was yummy!

Had never been, had heard of the daily limited take out lunch from family member . Had lunch in the restaurant. Good authentic Japanese, bit on the sweet side but tasty. The rice that came with the teshoku was warm sushi rice which was a surprise but worked well with the dish, although it might be why it made the meal a bit sweet as mentioned. Good experience and good value. Will visit again.

Stopped here for lunch, and was blown away!

Had the black cod set, and it was way more food than I expected. Cod was perfect, the Karaage amazing, and the fried beet that crowned the salad is something I will be copying soon!
Service also very pleasant.

The atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly, but to be honest, the food just isn’t good.

The presentation is appealing, but it doesn’t taste like real sushi. The flavors are bland, and it feels like they’re relying heavily on sauces to cover that up.

Even the non-sushi items lacked depth in flavor. If they’re going to call it “sushi,” I’m sorry to say—but I really wish they’d put more care and craftsmanship into it.

Kitchen Dada is a fantastic hidden gem which also happens to be conveniently located next to Grounds for Coffee, another favourite of mine! Food is EXCELLENT and there is such a passion in their attention to detail and presentation that each dish feels like a work of art. There is an excellent blend of some more traditional dishes and then some more creative Vancouver-sushi-style crazy rolls. They offer a rotating take-out special that is posted to their website daily and is only TEN DOLLARS! TEN DOLLARS FOLKS! IN THIS ECONOMY!? Make sure you order early because they're prone to sell out and absolutely do not sleep on making an effort to come and dine in for an elevated experience!

Our family loves going to Kitchen Dada. Their lunch specials are the best value and offer such fresh and tasty ingredients. Our favourite are the Saba lunch and the beef teriyaki. The saba (mackerel) is nicely pan fried to perfection and paired with rice, salad, miso soup and some Japanese pickles. The beef teriyaki is not shaved beef but a sliced beef filet that is nicely grilled. They also have wonderful sushi rolls and tataki sides.

Always fantastic. Quality product, fresh ingredients, generous portions, beautifully prepared and extremely reasonable prices.

Services are always good every time we go. Quality is high. But size of the dishes are much smaller, especially the monk fish liver. We suspect it is the cost of the food that goes up each month, understandably.
