A very cool place. The fact they also kept the original character of the building is a huge plus. We tried the dumplings, which were so so. A huge selection of beer and drinks. Unfortunately, the beer wasn't overly cold. However, it really seems like a great spot with solid atmosphere.

Terrible service, the bartender was just so disrespectful and rude, we just could not stand his attitude. Why hate on others if you hate your own job?. So surprised such people with absolutely zero customer service skills even get hired. Drinks were terrible, total rip off. Not going back here ever.

Anna took great care of us for an afternoon on the well shaded, quiet, and spacious sidewalk patio. Inside is lively and fun but not too loud. Super friendly and attentive service for our whole experience. Had a great burger, pretty decent value and some very good value happy hour Margheritas.
There was a virtual youtuber-related event held here after a local anime convention concluded. I had a great time meeting some new people and enjoying the vtuber-themed music while being able to enjoy some drinks and sharable food like fries. Bartenders and other staff were super friendly and very accommodating, wouldn't mind coming back for another event like this!

Stopped in after a walking tour, and it was quiet. We were just leaving about 10ish when it picked up, and lots of people were coming in. The food was really good, The daily special was a shortrib dip, and my husband had the Katsu burger. I fully recommend the Pet Tiger moctail

I love coming to the lamplighter, the main reason other than the incredible food and really welcoming and wholesome atmosphere is the service, I’ve been a lot of other places but the only place I would genuinely recommend and talk about is lamp, more specifically about Callum and Ana who treat everyone with such great service, they are the main reason for me that the lamplighter are the best bar in Gastown, let alone Vancouver. There are many places that I can watch ufc and football but the only place I really want to go to is the lamplighter without a doubt
