Perfect little spot for quality coffee and food
The décor inside is just awesome. It is a super café experience.
Behind the counter the elder couple (who seemed to be the owners) did a beautiful job and have a great sense of hospitality and customers service

I know the service sometimes gets mixed reviews, but this is a business that’s been part of the community for a long time. Service workers and owners get tired and have off days—and at the end of the day, they’ve done a solid job serving coffee to patrons for over two decades ☕️.
My partner and I recently bought a cinnamon bun here, and I quickly ran across the street to grab a drink from another café (which shall not be named 🤐). I think the owner saw me heading back to the car and assumed we were using customer parking just to take our business elsewhere (we did buy something from you that day 🤫).
Someone who I believe to be the owner came out and offered us a free coffee. We declined because we weren’t comfortable accepting something from someone we initially thought was a random stranger. We realized afterward that he wasn’t—when he yelled at us and threatened to tow us next time we parked there 😂.
Honestly, the frustration was valid. We should have moved our car after purchasing if we planned to go elsewhere. We all have off days (even the ones using your parking 😭), and we’re sorry about grabbing coffee from Forecast 😆🙇🏻♀️.

Great little hole-in-the-wall with chill vibe. No coffee but a very well done chai latte. Closes early ;-(

Lovely guy at the register, but the lady making coffee was chatting with a customer about how “blond haired blue eyed people” are the “perfect race”. Not impressed.

A grumpy old white lady was servicing, she was very rude and made me feel not welcome. 2 stars because coffee was okay

One of these days, I'll try something else on the menu besides their fantastic cinnamon buns! The showcase is loaded with delicious looking sweet and savory treats. My hot chocolate was truly rich and creamy, not the powdered stuff I'm used to tasting at the local Timmies. It's worth the drive from North Van to this location and although parking lot can be limited, go a couple of blocks in any direction and there is usually some free street parking to be found. The staff always make my visit enjoyable; they seem to honestly love what they do and make each customer feel valued.

It is that Pumpkin Spice Latte time of the year and I must say The Laughing Bean has the best one in the Vancouver. A funky neighbourhood cafe with lots of history (in an other life one got big gulps here many moons ago) The Bean folks have been looking after the neighbourhood for 22 years.
