An incredible evening. Food and drinks were amazing; service was perfect. It's such a great experience to let the restaurant make all the food decisions!! It was beautiful evening. Thank you TMR team!!

Quite literally one of the best tasting menus and meals I've ever had. Food, Service, and Ambience in perfect harmony. Nothing on a plate that didn't serve a purpose in making the dish the best it could be. I will stare longingly out a window reminiscing on Chicken of the Sea and Cool Hand Cuke. Ignore the neighbourhood grit, you will be transported as soon as you cross the threshold. Do yourself a favour, book it and go. We were so eager to tuck in, I had to borrow two photos from the restaurant's instagram.

We just got back from a week long trip to Vancouver and The Mackenzie Room was by far our favorite dining experience. We ordered the “I Want It All” for the four of us and it was the perfect amount of food. It was spectacular in presentation and taste. 10/10 from everyone in my party. Seriously, one of the best meals I’ve ever had (and I’m a serious foodie). The sea urchin, beef tartare, and lamb were our favorites!

Came here to try the tasting menu for two on a rare date night, arrived early and walked around to kill a bit of time, returning to the entrance 5 minutes before our reservation. The metal security gate was halfway rolled up and the door open, so I ducked in to say hi and see if we could have a seat at the bar for 5 minutes while they finished with opening (the neighbourhood is not the most pleasant to stroll around in when you are dressed up for a date night). A host(?) seemed extremely unhappy to see us, told us without any warmth that we had to wait outside or come back later (by this time it was 4 minutes to our reso) and ungraciously pushed us back outside, emphasizing her point by pulling the metal gate further down after we had stepped back outside of it. If you are going to situated in this kind of neighbourhood and offer an upscale dining experience, you'd think the host would at least offer an apology that we could not be accommodated, or some warmth. Better yet you just let us sit quietly at the bar and explain that you don't have anyone ready to serve and that it will just be a few minutes. Honestly that first impression really soured the whole experience. The tasting menu was competent, though the flavours that cohered the experience got tiresome by the time we got to the final course, same savoury miso cream type base with slightly tart / acid overlay across every tasting menu item. A mid experience, I wouldn't go back because of the bad experience with the welcome.

The Mackenzie Room was an amazing dining
experience. We had Sydney as our server and she was wonderful to chat with. The restaurant is very intimate and while upscale - still very inviting and cosy. We enjoyed the tasting menu for 2 and loved every course. The Chop Gun (pork dish) was our favourite. Easily the best pork I have ever had. I will note for those who have not visited Vancouver before, the restaurant is located very very close to the area of Hastings street where a large population of unhoused and addiction. It can be jarring to drive through. That being said, we felt safe in the restaurant.

This may be the best food I've ever experienced. Came here for a company dinner, and this place far exceeded any expectations I had. Literally had dreams about some of the dishes.

We made the wrong decision to go to BBQ for lunch
Then we can’t go for 2 more dishes in here….
My wife said has to come back again
We ordered
“yellow polka dot zucchini “
“Thrilly in Manila “
“The lamb before thyme “
They will change all new cutlery before sever the new dish
Their drinks also perfect touch of the food
The taste of the drink will not cover the food

Came here to try the tasting menu for 2. Food was not bad, but we subbed one of the mains and they brought out the original one by accident - it took another half hour to receive the right dish. They then skipped one of our other mains entirely and started bringing out the dessert plates, we had to ask about it and then wait a while again. They seemed very indifferent about the mistakes, even though the restaurant was fairly empty. The area is also questionable at night, and we didn't feel safe parking our car on the sidewalk outside.

Wonderful experience and spectacular dishes. My personal favorites were the Showstopper Salad and the Spring Break. Others in my party enjoyed the Chicken of the Sea or the Toucan Sam dessert. Out if the 12 dishes, we enjoyed them all - none were a miss. A must do restaurant in a surprising area of Vancouver.

Best restaurant in Vancouver as far as I'm concerned. And if Sidney is your server, even better! This place has been around for a decade and hasn't lost any of it's charm and skill. Go for the whole menu. Enjoy!
