We were looking for something local to the area and found The Magnet based in its high reviews. There were no more available reservations so we went when they opened at 4pm and were able to get an open table. There was a Whitecaps game later that evening and the restaurant filled up fast. Got the Magnet Charcuterie Board and a sausage roll along with beers and a cider. Loved the sausage roll: it’s made to order and was very large. Not your usual deli sausage roll. The server was excellent: patient, knew the food, gave suggestions and did not hurry us. Atmosphere was comfortable and the food great. Prices were very good.

Now this is a place to go whenever you need to impress someone. Great fight with cider and stouts I've never heard of. Definitely a good place to try some unique drinks.
All around wonderful! But they need to bring back their ice cream sandwiches. The bitter orange ice cream and chocolate dipped cookie specifically.

Absolutely Delicious food and beer and nice relaxing vibes even though it was very busy before a Canucks game.
Utterly unexpected excellence. Came here because a friend chose it for proximity to a skytrain station. Had to walk through a bit of a sketchy neighborhood to get here (memories of old Vancouver rising). But it's in a good neighborhood. Got there just at opening, in time for "Maggy Hour" where you buy a beer from quite a nice list and you get another for free. Okay, then. Beers were local and excellent. Never had better in BC. Server was fun, and knowledgeable, though she claimed she was new. She had her hands full as the bar filled up, but checked in with us frequently. The clientele mostly wore hockey jerseys and "Kenora dinner jackets" but this came off as pretty hipster. The food! Absolutely top notch. House-made ham was superb, as were the pies. And did not break the piggy bank either. Will absolutely go back.

I know they’ve had better beer lists from previous visits. There was a mix up by the waitress on our order which we didn’t find out about until we got the receipt. All of a sudden it made sense that the beer we ordered tasted terrible. It wasn’t what we ordered! Staff did try make it right by taking it off our bill which we appreciate. Wasn’t the best visit but we would still come again based on past experiences.
