Don’t order the banana buckwheat pancakes! Dry, dense, with no flavour. Not the same as they used to be. Their breakfast menu’s vegan, gluten-free option are these horrible dense disasters!

The naam is so classic. The buddy feast is delicious.

I’ve been coming to the Naam for years and it used to be one of my favorite spots in Vancouver. Sadly, my recent visit was very disappointing.

Our server seemed annoyed at us from the start it took a long time for food to arrive and we had to repeatedly call her over for basic service. After our meal, when we wanted to order dessert and tea, we actually had to go up to the counter because both servers ignored us despite clearly seeing us waiting. When she finally responded, she spoke loudly across the room, “I’ll come to your table.”

We still thanked her when she eventually brought the carrot cake and tea, and we asked for the bill and a box. We tipped $10, which felt more than fair given the poor service. But on our way out, the server actually demanded more tip “for the kitchen.” My family member felt intimidated and handed her extra cash, which was shocking and inappropriate.

To make matters worse, while we were eating our dessert and tea, I saw another waitress drink straight from a water bottle that is used to serve customers. That was extremely unprofessional and unsanitary.

This experience really soured the evening and left us feeling disheartened. Naam used to be known for great food and excellent service, but sadly, we won’t be returning after this experience.

Food preparation and presentation was below average. Patio sitting could use some upkeep.

Best 24 hour vegetarian restaurant I've ever been to. (And the only one!!) It was crazy how for once I could pick from *all* the brunch options instead of being confined to two or three. The weird part was that that was actually too overwhelming and I almost prefer the relative safety of other menus.

The wait staff were cool and friendly and one of them seemed kind of angry but I think he was joking or that's just his personality. I liked him, even if the people at the table thought he was strange.

They did some weird stuff with my cousin's smoothie but it all turned out okay. That veggie hash thing was good.

I like the vibe inside.

Came here for a birthday celebration. We don't always go to a vegan or vegetarian restaurant; but we do have restaurants that we like in the same type so we're not unfamiliar.

The service was ok. They had the aura of They were able to hold a birthday cake for us until it was needed which was kind of them. The atmosphere to the place is also nice. I specially liked the big speakers strewn about the place.

Food-wise, it wasn't that exciting. There were a lot of options but the ones we got were lacking. The nachos was the best item we got.

The chilli enchilada was bland and sloppy with the tortilla simply put on top. Traditionally you'd see enchiladas having a tortilla wrapped around some filling. Another person who ordered a different enchilada -- spinach -- said it was watery. The potato wedges were tough even with a knife and fork. The miso-based sauce helped to loosen it a bit.

The pizza that another person ordered said it was difficult to eat it as a pizza. The crust was floppy and was forced to eat it with a knife and fork.

This issue was similar to the peanut wrap that I had. The wrap couldn't hold their shape meaning I resorted my knife and fork. The wrap was pretty bland considering it should have a peanut sauce which is rich and savoury. The rice was clumped up meaning the peanut sauce wasn't able to penetrate it leading to a wet rice taste.

One person didn't finish the taco that they ordered. The rest enjoyed their meals.

Overall, for us, the food was lacking. There are better vegan/vegetarian options in Vancouver. As much as I love seeing long standing businesses, the quality shouldn't going down.

As other people have mentioned, the wait to get a servers attention once you are seated is unbelievably long! It wasn't even busy and the server couldn't be bothered to come by and take our order. Such attitude! We waited 15-20 mins, then decided to just walk out and leave. Please don't bother going.

Great vegetarian food with a vegan option for most. The service was good, the food was great.
Generous portions of very thoughtful plates. I would consider their style as vegetarian comfort food. The vibe is very chill and it seems almost identical as how it was 20 years ago.
We had the vegan Miso Benny, Naam special breakfast with Buckwheat Pancakes and vegan Breakfast Burrito. The Miso Benny was everyone’s favourite but everything was delicious.
Highly recommend.

The atmosphere is both beautiful and simple, and the vegetarian and vegan food is truly amazing. We got the soup deluxe bowl and chili burrito. I highly recommend trying their burritos.

It’s been 42 years since I was last at the Naam and the place hasn’t changed a bit.
Stopped by for lunch with my daughter while we were visiting my mother. Food was tasty and the portions good. The staff there did their best as everyone there all came in at once. Our server was a little nervous made a special effort to take a nice picture for us. Thanks for a pleasant lunch.

This place has been here for years! It’s iconic. Every vegetarian and vegan person should know this place. Actually even non vegetarians and non vegans know this place too.

I was with a few colleagues and we all met here to have lunch. Fantastic flavors and oh so hearty and comforting. Loved it.
The ingredients are always fresh and prepped well.

I went there after seeing high rating and google reviews. But my experience was that it’s mostly driven by nostalgia and regular customers. As a first time visitor I found the place run down/unclean and washrooms were not maintained well. The food was okay, looked colorful but not flavorful. We had ordered the Maui burger and Naam stake.

Vancouver has such a vibrant food scene and ton of good options, so I don’t see myself visiting this place again.

Hard to explain how I could feel Nostalgia for a place I'd never been too and then spend nearly a decade raving about dragon bowls on the otherside of the planet afterward.
Well a late night visit sealed it, The Naam is a Vancouver food institution that occupies a bit of my brain forever.
Cheesy-Miso laden tofu, veggies and potatoes for the soul.
