Place was musty and server was rude :( she said they didn’t have any of the cocktails on the menu. When we tried to order she said “we don’t have that” And then didn’t offer an alternative and just stared at us. Also we asked for our bills right after finally ordering a drink she could make and then she did everything else possible before coming back to our table. I’d get it if she was busy but there was literally like 3 other people in there. It might sound delusional but it felt like she did it out of spite! It felt like she literally hated us for no reason! So sad:( we were excited for a nice quick little drink

I spent my weekend sampling Pisco Sours from various establishments. The Painted Ship has the best one I have tried so far. It was well balanced, not as sweet as others I have tried. The bartender, Hollie, was extremely friendly and crafted my beverage with finesse and ease.

The Ship is a kits neighbourhood staple!! Such amazing vibes all the time, the service is quick and super friendly, and the food is absolutely incredible. The live music is always so fun and lively, it creates such a great atmosphere. 10/10 GO HERE!

Everytime I go there everyone is so welcoming and kind, take the time to discuss the menu, are passionate about the drinks they are making and the service they give. I have never had a bad night there. Would highly recommend.

Such a great spot in Vancouver! Great food, always great service and a fun vibe. Make sure to try the volcan picante cocktail, it is one of my favorite cocktails in the city!

Thank god, finally some fun to be had in the neighbourhood. Always have a great time chatting with the staff while I’m making my way through the delicious bite menu. It’s really nice to see a space that also doubles as a venue for local talent. Great bookings!
Call it my new watering hole.

it’s such a lovely vibey bar! and most of the staff are so nice and welcoming. but there is one staff member, i think called hollie (tattoos, glasses and dark hair) who has genuinely negatively impacted every experience i’ve had there. always really poor customer service, very unwelcoming and honestly just made the vibe quite uncomfortable. made me and my friends feel like an inconvenience and honestly idk how she still has a job there. makes negative comments and just seems like you’re an inconvenience to her. it really ruins the experience tbh.

Fully business oriented/ not service + neighbourhood oriented ??
I’ve been living in kits for 20y. A regular to “yaggers” and currently been treated as a tourist! ?
Go to Fringe if you like to feel like home.

Holly (hope I am spelling your name right) is the best! The Painted Ship was a wonderful stop along my day. I love the decor and music vibes. When Holly asked if I wanted any food with the drink I was excited to try and I mentioned I have celiacs, they were easily able to accomodate me. After a moment of someone coming up a bit close in my space, squeezing between another patron and me and starting a conversation (lovely synchronous ones a couple chairs away had already happened which were fabulous) Holly intervened and had the man leave me alone and assured me it was a safe and inclusive space and would help keep all comfortable in there. I am more grateful and happy to have found The Painted Ship than I could have ever realized before going in. The drinks and food I had were sooo delicious and unique. Highly recommend. I am excited to return for live music and more food, drinks, and chill time. I wanted to try a bunch of things so I ordered more than others would probably for just 1 person and if I knew better how the check out terminal worked (now I understand the options) I would have spent more to thank Holly and look forward to next time we are in there together. I do not really know all that goes into a server or bartender's job (maybe they are a manager too, IDK) but I feel Holly went above and beyond with everyone to make sure we were all cared for and felt taken appreciated while dining / having drinks / taking centering self time to enjoy being out amidst others yet with our own personal space.
Vegetarian options: Incredibly delicious vegan/veggie options.
Dietary restrictions: Great for vegan as well as celiacs (gluten free with extra care and knowledge for cross contamination and super sensitivity).

Waited 20mins to be served when there was only around 8 other people in the restaurant. Also, first time I’ve ever seen Guinness on tap being poured into a random 14oz glass for a $9 happy hour. Food is way over priced and bland.
