I ordered a beef patty with cheese, lettuce, and their house sauce, and it was cooked just right. The patty was juicy and flavorful, and the toppings worked well together. The bun was soft but sturdy enough to hold everything without falling apart. I also tried their fries, and they were crispy and seasoned nicely.

Just takeout but HEAVENLY food. I had the curry beef patty which was perfectly spiced and satisfying to the nth degree. Pastry was flaky and lovely. Outdoor seating nearby. MANY locals frequenting this place so that speaks volumes. Prices were very reasonable... especially considering the fare!

I'm Australian and love a meat pie. These are the next best thing, and you're full for $10 or under! I love the hot beef and the chicken. 100% would recommend. The other day I had been waiting/walking the dogs around the neighbourhood whilst waiting much longer than expected for the locksmith nearby and they were kind enough to provide a tupperware filled with water for the dogs to have a drink. Thanks heaps!

Such a cute shop with the best, flakiest curry beef patties I’ve ever had. Well spiced and spicy without being too much. Amazing.

This place is a total time warp. Been coming here for over 20 years and nothing has changed. Same faded posters, same bulletin board, same bell on the counter you ring for service.
No seating inside, it's basically a food counter tucked in a shop. But there's some ledges outside by the flower beds if you need to sit.
The patties are incredible. If you're new, start with the mild beef. My favorites are the pizza and curry chicken. The curry chicken is addictive, I've had patties all over and nothing comes close to these. You can grab hot ones to eat right there or buy frozen dozens to take home.
Every time I eat one I can't help but smile. Seriously, just go.

Hands down the best Patties anywhere. The flaky dough is unreal. And it’s not that yellow mushy dough than a lot of the other Jamaican patties are those ones are awful. This is nice and light and flaky. They’re literally the best things outside of Jamaica hands-down 10/10. Highly recommended

A Vancouver icon! The Patty Shop has been a beloved neighbourhood staple for over 40 years. I am partial to the curry beef (the hottest flavour) and the hot beef. I miss the taco. Bring back the taco! Patty Shop gets 3 stars for atmosphere only because their soda machine has cheated me out of my money more than a few times. But in all honesty. It's a great little hole in the wall. Buy a a frozen bag of 12! Perfect in the air fryer!

I have been eating at this place since the Patties were about 65 cents...not quite the prices when they opened in the late 70's but probably pretty close. As per my usual spew, yes the prices have gone up but they still taste damn good. Authentic? I have no clue. I don't think they have ever said much more than hello to me since the late 80's early 90's but I do not care. I show up for the grub.
The wacky, oversized, almost Rodney Graham meets Ron Terada conceptual art-like business card that could double up as a greeting card is a phenomenal part of the experience as is the business card disaster pin board. Realtors and electricians fighting for free ad space, pummeling and poking each other in a thumbtack fight. The faded lithograph printed Jamaica poster is dated but a welcome sight. I just wish they had the 1972 Sintra Bronte Jamaica t-shirt poster....the Usain Bolt printout just isn't doing it. On another side note, the Chalk art chalkboard may be one of the first in the city before Chalk Art started to become a thing. Not a good thing, but still a thing.
Back to the Morse code/reverse Braille coded patties. Delish. Spinach feta and Mild Beef are a guarantee. I could eat a white greasy bag of them and I do. In fact I pick up extra thick plastic bags of their Arawak Industries frozen Jamaican pucks to go!
I have never used the pop machine that sits in their establishment and I have actually never seen anyone use it in all my years there but maybe one day I will. Other than a medium freezer that sits behind the cash register, most of the action is behind the wall. I hope to hear some Dancehall or dub back there, but so far no luck.
