Do Not eat the Tacos ? I know anti taco rhetoric is rare and most often uncalled for but in this case, you can thank me later. Absolutely disgusting and strange wet tasteless tacos are being served in the dark here. Atmosphere is cool yet food is not. Drink yes, eat no.

When arrived no one was upfront to help. Waited and someone came who went to check and came back after approximately 5 minutes to inform that they are still preparing the food. After waiting for 10 minutes another person comes to request me to cancel the order from my side and his reasoning was that their own system froze and it will take another 10 to 15 minutes. I told them to cancel it from their system but they never did it because their rating will get hit. They preferred that I as a food delivery driver take the hit on my rating instead of them knowing I waited more than 10 minutes to get nothing from them. Very poor service!!!

I had the yam fries, they were really good. I got a drink from the Happy Hour menu, the spiked slush. I wanted dark rum and coke. The waitress, Lory?, came back to us saying the happy hour was with the Bacardi white, not spiced rum. My friend said she was fine with it being not happy hour, and I said the white was good with me. I got my drink, and I drank it (i don't normally drink white or even drink at all so not sure what exactly the white rum really tastes like), and when the bill comes I noticed I was charged the $9.00 so I talked to the waitress explaining I wanted the white, and not sure why I was charged the spiced rum. She explained in a horrible attitude that that is what I agreed to when I knew I did not. I understand that it was a clear miscommunication, but I was upset as she was quite rude to me about it and that the people at my table thought she was rude, and basically told me she blamed it on me. She was willingly wanting to change it, but it seemed like such an inconvenience that I basically just paid the bill because it was super upsetting to me and I just wanted to leave.

The food was good, but I am never coming back as the service was just horrible and upsetting.

Cool spot with some tasty tacos. The whiskey and mango kinda mid. The mushroom tacos are ass, the chicken tacos are mid, and the beef and pork tacos are fire. Price is good. Flavor is good. I recommend. We went after a movie at lunch so the vibe was mid but I expect the vibe to be dope at night.

Was with a big group trying to have a little afterparty for a concert downtown, didn’t make a reservation anywhere since we had no idea how many people would be coming. We looked at a few other big places but the patio at The Pawn Shop was the only place we found that could fit us where the music wasn’t too loud to think let alone hold a conversation (it was pretty loud inside but still more reasonable than most of the other bars on Granville at night).
I have a friend who likes this place mostly on the basis that it’s (relatively) cheap, so I didn’t have especially high expectations for quality, but I thought my food was actually really good! I had the artichoke & avocado bowl. The artichoke gave it a different sort of flavour than you usually get in Mexican/Mexican-inspired food and the fried avocado was also an interesting and different texture. I liked that it was something unique. For vegetarian options, you also have the option to sub in artichoke for the meat in the other burritos/burrito bowls, so it’s a very vegetarian-friendly menu, and I would be interested in trying more bowls.
I had a coconut margarita to drink. The shredded coconut rim was a nice touch.
For the most part the staff was friendly and the service was consistent and timely even though we were served by a few different people. Maybe it was because they split us up between 2 picnic tables, but there was no auto gratuity for the big group even though they waited on us together. And as mentioned above, the prices are really reasonable. I’m glad that we ended up here by necessity and would come back again by choice.
