I came especially to try their Hawaiian plate lunch; I've never seen these on offer anywhere else in Vancouver. I got the spicy aburi tuna plate lunch. They actually torch the tuna when you order! The combination of pasta salad with rice was odd to me, I wish there was an option to use salad as the base instead of rice, but I really enjoyed this bowl. The pasta salad was great, as was the fish and the spicy mayo (it was actually pretty spicy). The pineapple was very obviously from a can and tasted a little weak; fresh would have been better but that's a small detail. I also got a butter mochi. These come packaged in a plastic bag and had a bit of that packaged baked good sheen to it (sorry if this is not a universal experience and no one knows what I'm talking about) but getting past that, I have yet to find a really good and FRESH butter mochi in Vancouver and this is probably the best one I've had. It was very gooey in the middle and just a little crisp outside. The shop has ample seating and had a nice atmosphere with lots of natural light from the big windows. Very clean. I'd come back.

Opening at 11 am on a Sunday, the Poke Guy in downtown Vancouver serves up a variety of Hawaiian inspired flavors, all put together in a rice bowl (rather than as a mixed plate). The garlic shrimp dish is available on the weekend as the special, and was the main reason we stopped in. We ordered two of those ($16.95) plus $1 for lemonade. We also got da classic ($17.95) which has ahi tuna and salmon poke over a bed of rice. You order and pay up front, and pick up the food from the counter when your number is called. Everything was good. The ahi tuna was decent, the fresh vegetables were solid, with really good rice. The quantity wasn't huge, but would be sufficient for lunch. The garlic shrimp was really good, with corn, canned pineapple, and OK macaroni salad put together over medium grain rice. The master of flavor at this restaurant has the Hawaiian flavor down, and if we had time, I would try their Kalua Pork or their Loco Moco. Next time.

Good ingredients but very stingy on the protein compared to Chipotle. Came in for a chicken salad and it's not a good value.

One of the best poke options downtown in terms of quality, taste, and value- fish and produce tasted fresh, marinade is not overly salty, portion is generous. Highly

Good Hawaiian style lunch bowls. The Kalbi rib dish is solid - I’d switch it up from the Chipotle nearby if that got stale.Price is fair depending on what you get.Drinks are pricey though.
