Old pub in Gastown, with a nautical theme. You had to show ID at entrance. Nice live music. Limited selection of food. Lots of beers on tap but no porters or stouts besides Guinness.

Cant really recommend, went at 10pm and later on a Saturday night. Vibe felt fratty, lines for the shared bathroom were way too long. Slow bar service. Dance floor way to small. Just go somewhere else if you want a club experience. Did not try good. Decent drinks.

Extremely rude bouncers claiming we were on drugs….RN here to dispute all claims. Bouncers were on an uneducated power trip.
Upon asking the bouncer what dilated pupils meant, we got ignored and removed. Uneducated bouncers attempted to mansplain “health concerns”, however, their quadruplet opinions proved to be uneducated. Unawareness of what dilated pupils indicated, proved the unawareness of the 40+ Y\O crowds. Women’s safety not considered. Overall, horrible experience, would not recommend Portside to anyone, especially women under 55, who care about their safety.

I was inappropriately touched and then physically assaulted by a staff member who was probably twice my age and twice my size. I emailed management and was told that I would be contacted and never was. Young women do NOT go here.

Paid 12 dollars for the cover and spent 50 on drinks. Grabbed our drinks and decided to sit down for a bit before getting accused of puking on the bench next to us. Apparently he caught me on camera but after asking for the footage he claimed that they don’t have surveillance. After trying to reason with the “manager” he forced the bouncers to escort me out. Did not show me any proof and accused me when I was on my first drink and dead sober (only got in 10 minutes ago). Bouncers were very rude and mocked me the whole time. Three grown men refusing to reason tells me why they work minimum wage jobs.

The atmosphere was nice just because of Virgulins band… other than that, it’s the worst service in the world. Even the manager picks the people he wants to be nice with and allows people to cut the line even when you’ve been waiting forever. The worst experience ever.
