Cozy neighborhood bistro, the kind of place where you want to meet a date or friends over a glass of wine and tasty food. It's prices are on par with other restaurants and eateries, though I wish it was cheaper. That's Vancouver for you.

This is a wonderful place based on the happy hour and appy menu I’ve tried. The $10 kir royal on happy hour is a fave, but there are great wines and local beer to choose from on or off happy hour. My personal favourite is the truffle popcorn. I sometimes think of it when Im not there. I’ve also shared one of the charceuterie boards and it was also very tasty. I recommend this sweet spot on South Granville if you’re looking for a bite or a larger meal along with a fine selection of drinks….

The restaurant is highly understaffed and their kitchen works at a snail’s pace. It wasn’t even busy yet 40 minutes into sitting down, they are still prepping food for guests who arrived before us. I watched them take 15 minutes to plate a soup which consisted of 5 pieces of bread and, the soup. Finally the hunger and lack of progress was too hard to bear and I asked the waitress whether they’ve started on our food. She said yes, which obviously wasn’t the case, and explained we have to understand that they only have 2 staff in the kitchen. I don’t get why that’s the customers’ problem when they decide to run a restaurant of this size while having the kitchen fall ridiculously behind. The service was okay, and we were offered the option to leave. I’m glad we left and oh, here comes my hot food at another spot just 10 mins after ordering. Maybe the Stable House Bistro should learn a thing or two from the industry.

We were in town for the evening to catch an early flight and were looking for a place with charcuterie. The Stable House Bistro popped up in a web search. We called to make sure our kids could go (they are always welcome) and we made a reservation. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and very personable. They have a number of small sharing plates and a “make your own” charcuteries. We opted to have two full servings of the charcuterie ( to make sure to get all of the evening’s offerings. We also got the snack trio olives, nuts and truffle popcorn. The meal was fantastic with many made in house condiments. The amount of food was perfect for us and not overwhelming. All in all it was a great evening in a great restaurant. We would not hesitate to return or recommend!

We stopped by around 3:00 PM for happy hour, because, let’s be honest, wine tastes better when it’s slightly discounted 🍷😎. My wife went for a Rosé, I had a white, and both were chef’s kiss (smooth, fresh, and dangerously easy to drink).

We started with the Trio and a Board of Three, and everything was delicious, the kind of plates that make you forget to check your phone. Later, when dinner kicked in, we went for pasta (Carbonara and Nduja Casarecce), and honestly, I could write poetry about that sauce 😅.

The real star of the show, though, was Leticia. She’s très gentille! I even got to practice my French with her 🇫🇷🇨🇦. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel personal. If Michelin gave stars for good vibes, she’d get five.

The place itself? Cozy, chill, and a little romantic... perfect for a relaxed date or just escaping Vancouver’s chaos. My wife loved it: the vibe, the music volume (finally a place where you can talk without yelling), and that chocolate-loaded dessert at the end.

We left smiling, full, and already planning our next visit.

Pro tip: Come for the happy hour, stay for the pasta… and ask for Leticia. She’s the best of the best.

Absolutely revolting food. Although pretentiously presented as a high-end bistro, this atrocious dive fails on all counts. Massively over-salted pasta and entrees. Hard little bits of sausage, almost inedible, a bland, insipid excuse for a Caesar salad and extremely over-priced wine. Add a server with no knowledge of the menu or ingredients and prices triple of what this should have cost. An extremely disappointing waste of over $400.00.
