I really liked the dark hidden feel of this spot in Yaletown; it has a cozy, almost secret atmosphere. However, the service didn’t meet my expectations. The food and drinks came in small portions, yet the prices were on the higher end. What really threw me off was the presentation: my food was served in a red plastic tray with a plastic container for ketchup; something you’d expect at a fast food place, not at a bar charging premium prices.

This is a real speak easy hidden at the back of the Hundy burger and chicken sandwich counter. Dark comfy interior with a nice mix of soft music. The drinks are really good but pricey, luckily the sandwiches are good and reasonable. The spicy chicken, fries, salad and poutine are creative, delicious and unique. They're a bit understaffed so be patient and enjoy the ambiance.

The ambience was good. We ordered the Hot Chicken burger! We loved it to the extent that we ordered another one. Unfortunately the chicken in the second one was undercooked. We let the staff know about it and returned it! The staff apologized but still billed us for it. Upon asking the reason, we were told the food was “touched”. How are we supposed to know the food is undercooked without actually eating it! It’s a food safety concern and the least they could have done was not bill it! Unprofessional service!

A cute speakeasy tucked behind a food stand. Came here without a reservation and we were able to sit at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were good!

Visited this place twice. The first time, we arrived at 9:30 PM to find it completely empty, yet the host claimed they were expecting reservations and refused to let us even sit at the bar. When I pointed out the empty tables, she insisted guests would be arriving soon.
The second visit, this time with a 5 PM reservation, turned out to be one of the most mediocre dining experiences I’ve had. There are definitely better options just around the block.

Let me just say this…Scott (the bar manager) is a true renaissance man. A man of mystery and intrigue — the answer the to question what is class? He single handedly wrangled the bar, the food and Im pretty sure I saw him teach a man to read during his shift. 10/10 would Scott again.
