Been going here for years—such a reliably awesome spot with delicious, wholesome food and cozy atmosphere. Staff is always so friendly and they really make you feel at home. The eggs Benedict is a must-try on the weekends, the coffee is always top-notch, and the hotplates are unreal! A standout in East Van dining for sure!!

The Tipper is exactly what I'd hoped a neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot would be. I love the wooden interior, comfy seats, and the genuinely local vibe. I had the three-egg breakfast with veggie sausage instead of normal sausage it comes with, and it was the perfect meal after a long night out.
I highly recommend this spot, especially for vegetarians and vegans! It's one of the few places with plenty of great substitutions, like vegan bacon, vegan sausage, and other veggie-friendly options. Coming here as a vegetarian, it's hard to go anywhere else now! I'll definitely be back.

Used to come here for a chill and relaxed brunch, but won't be returning again. We walked in and no one was available to seat us, so we patiently waited. Had two servers look and walk right by us without any acknowledgement. When someone finally came up to us, they peered over us and asked the male behind us if they put their name down. We were pretty shocked that we were completely ignored. We were so upset that we left. Do I have the invisibility superpower?! Perhaps I had an invisbility cloak on? Definitely won't be returning again.

Horrible service. Nobody acknowledged us for the longest time even though multiple people walked by with no acknowledgement. When someone finally came they talked to the people behind us and asked if they put their name on the wait list yet. I won't be coming back ever.

This is one of my mainstay places to go when I want to eat something yummy and satisfying in a chill and comfortable place. The Tipper isn't very big, it's not trendy, it has just the right vibe for meeting up with a few friends or sitting at the bar. The menu is more varied than you would think, and definitely vegetarian friendly. A good selection of beers and really good service. Really good breakfast and brunch options too.
