Manners cleanliness and taste. That’s the way it should be. Oh And this dessert 👇

Great interior and pastries have remained consistent for years. I enjoy some of the selections on the cakes they have here and the price is fairly reasonable.

$13 for an eclair. People who work are great, though.

Visited place for their Hot Chocolate festival and tried
- 70% dark chocolate with milk icecream (good but very pricey for $13 tho)
- Americano coffee very good
- Black Forest cake good but too much cream on it on my opinion
- surprised they have tap and sparkling water

My high expectations were somewhat 'squished' at our first (and most likely last) visit at the Mount Pleasant location. It should have been a treat for a desert after a birthday brunch, but we left rather underwhelmed. The staff wasn't very attentive, rather appearing stressed, forgetting things and paying attention to everything else but our order. The selection of deserts was small while the prices were on a steeper side, and seating options very limited. The location doesn't have particularly inviting atmosphere for a delicious afternoon respite but rather resembles a battle field for a table. Years ago I had a much better impression from their downtown location. Let's try it there the next time.

Unfortunately , the cappuccino was disappointing—it looked more like regular coffee with milk rather than a proper cappuccino. Hardly any foam, just a flat, unbalanced drink.

I have been to this cafe for a few times. This location is more spacious than the one downtown on Alberni, but it could still be difficult to find a table at times.

I have ordered cake for my friend’s birthday for and it was very delicious.

During this time, I ordered tea while catching up with a friend. They have a good selection of tea.

The cakes quality is still amazing but it feels like there's little selection (especially late) and there's not enough new items so you end up with the same cake. Overall a pleasant place for relaxed conversation and a treat

I had a cookie and a hot pistachio chocolate: the cookie was delicious, but the chocolate was quite bland. My friend got the special chocolate they offer for the Hot Chocolate Festival and was very disappointing.

The decor might be much better: given the price scale and the quality of what they offer, one might expect a more traditional, cozy, and comfy forniture, but it is not the case.

The food and ambiance were really good, but the service was incredibly slow. They don’t carry some of the items available at their downtown branch, which was disappointing. The staff didn’t seem to care whether I was there or not. Overall, not a great experience.

The service was great, but their cakes are severely overpriced (e.g. a small piece of cake is $11.95), and their 'hot chocolate' is cocao powder with hot milk, not even resembling thick, rich hot chocolate you can get in Europe.

Thierry Mount Pleasant feels like the forgotten sibling of the Ambleside location. The staff were too busy chatting and laughing with each other to notice customers at the register—apparently, providing service isn’t as exciting. My cake came with a dirty knife, and the sparkling water tap wasn’t working because why not add to the disappointment? If you’re used to the attentive staff and cozy ambience at Ambleside, this place will leave you unimpressed.
Two stars, purely for the dessert.
