Got their Tonka bean hot chocolate tonight. They didn’t give us a chocolate eclair as shown on the hot chocolate festival sign. What a disappointment!! Paid $15 for a hot chocolate with a missing component

I stopped by Thierry Mount Pleasant recently and it felt like discovering a sweet secret in Vancouver that I didn’t even know I needed. I walked in on a sunny afternoon and the place felt warm and calm with the smell of fresh pastries filling the air. I got a flaky apple turnover and a matcha strawberry iced drink. Both were so tasty I didn’t even want to share with my friend who was with me. The coffee was smooth and made me feel cozy while we sat outside watching people walk by in Mount Pleasant.
What I liked most was how everything there felt special but not scary fancy. The staff were friendly and helped me decide between all the desserts when I couldn’t choose because they all looked so good. I even saw someone nearby eating a big chocolate cake that looked amazing. Sitting there made me feel relaxed and happy, almost like I was in a little Paris café rather than right here in Vancouver.
By the time I left I was already thinking about my next visit so I could try even more treats and another drink. This is a great spot if you want a delicious coffee and pastry that makes your day feel a bit brighter.

When it comes to patisserie-style cakes, Thierry would always be in one of the top four (4) on my list in Vancouver. And I’d say this pistachio chocolate cake is my favourite in the entire shelf and I could eat them again and again. Not too sweet, very satisfying!

Mint tea is incredible there! Coffee americano was not hot enough and that’s minus for me (the reason I gave 4 stars to food). Cakes are big (I prefer smaller sizes - especially cheesecake).
In general its great place to visit 🫶

Love their deserts but watch out for the chocolate cherries, they don’t take the pits out and I definitely almost cracked a tooth on them

Thierry Mount Pleasant is such a lovely spot! The pastries and desserts are top-notch—flaky croissants, rich tarts, and beautiful macarons that taste as good as they look. The café has a classy, Parisian vibe without feeling stuffy, making it perfect for a relaxed coffee, a casual date, or a treat after a walk around Mount Pleasant. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the drinks (especially the coffee and teas) pair perfectly with the sweets. It can get a bit busy, but honestly, the quality and atmosphere make it totally worth it. Definitely one of my go-to spots for a fancy but approachable café experience in Vancouver!

I’m a big fan of Thierry and been to the Mount Pleasant location a few times and had positive experiences. The outlier was today Jan 7, 2025 when the lady with an Eastern European accent at the cash desk on my few seconds of thinking whether to take a drink here or to go just said: it will be to-go because we don’t allow dogs here! First of all, my dog is a documented service dog of mine and second of all, we’ve been inside for about 5 mins with my dog and there was no indication that there was any issue. My response to her was that my dog was a service dog but she kept saying “no”. I said whether she was aware of the fact that service dogs are always excused but she just turned around on us. The thing is that we didn’t even intend to stay inside, what threw me off was the explicit rudeness and the attitude. Instead of asking whether my dog is a service dog, she assumed that he’s not and acted as described making our visit to this location probably the last one. The thing is that the other two colleagues who packed a cake for us and prepped the tea were extremely nice to us.

Do not allowed to eat your own food from outside lol. Even if I got a coffee a chocolates from them. Ok, if they have Same option, but they don’t. I got a bowl from store beside this cafe, then ordered my coffee from them and they said that it not allowed me to eat my own food. Coffee tast not good actually.
And chocolates to sweet bc there is too much sugar in it, so also not good as they promote themselves.
Only great things that they have it’s a sparkling water lol.

Great pastries, cakes and drinks! One female employee was especially kind and offered to bring a high chair for our 9 month old. That was very nice!

some of their flavor profiles are my favorite especially the seasonal ones! but I wonder if they sell day old pastries and cakes... the cake is had was kind of stiff and hard and tasted like it wasn't too fresh
