Echoing all the prior reviews, this place is nothing short of impressive especially at this price level.
There was an hour wait for dinner, but there were also plenty of things & coffee shops nearby to kill time.
The knife work was great on the sashimi. Thick & uniform cuts. Fish were fresh & buttery and needed little to no soy sauce. The roll was great, as well. The crunchy (shrimp?) bit in the middle was a great touch.
I’m looking forward to trying more sashimi here on my next visit.

So worth the hype! Sushi is definitely on the pricier side but everything is made so meticulously and delicious. Foie gras is the star of the whole meal. Other items are also all good.
The wait is very long even on a Monday lunch (1hr) so just put your name on the wait list and walk around the area.

The food is superb, the fish is very fresh, you can eat and enjoy it. We ordered a set for two and it was more than enough, a very tasty set. The staff is superb! Very polite and attentive! I recommend booking a table in advance because there is a line, but I will always send you a message when your table is ready if you don't want to wait in line.

You don’t really need my review to come here. But in case you did find my review - the sushi is on par with Japan. Trust me I know, I watched all 9071 episodes of Naruto and finished Dragonball Z in one sitting. I also went to Japan once.

I finally made it to Tom Sushi on Davie Street in Vancouver and it was such a good surprise. I walked in hungry and didn’t really know what to expect, but the sushi here felt fresh and full of flavour in every bite. Reviewers talk about how the sashimi can just melt in your mouth and how their special rolls are something to come back for again and again, and after eating there I totally get why people say that.
The place has a cozy but lively feel, with people chatting and enjoying their meals while the staff move quickly and keep everything running smoothly. I ordered a couple of nigiri and some of the signature rolls and every piece felt balanced and clean, like the fish was picked with care and the rice was just right. Others have said the tempura and udon are worth trying too, and now I can see that this isn’t just sushi but a full menu that covers all the Japanese favourites well.

Fave is the BC Roll combo, which is super tasty and filling, and great value; your mileage may vary on the salmon skin.
Can be big queues depending on time of day / time of year.
