The food is average. . . Enforcing high tips is irritating. . . I feel like I’m bullying poor students🥲
Maoxuewang just call it spicy potato chips. It's full of potato scammers. How many pieces of meat are there?

It tastes bad. I asked the boss. He said I had a cold. It’s ok. It’s awesome.

0The service actually forces a 15% tip. The most disgusting thing is that they dare to say that this is a Canadian rule. They are really not afraid of retribution.

As soon as I sat down, I smelled a strong smell from the dining table and the table was sticky.
There was no service during the whole process, and the water was poured by myself.
A middle-aged woman stood by and stared at us while we were entering the tip, and would lecture us if we didn't give more. It is said that restaurants here in Canada require a 10% tip? ? 😅I’m totally dumbfounded. We didn’t receive any service. Why are you forcing us to pay 10%? After finally quitting and re-entering, we were asked to round the amount with tenth place 1 directly to the next integer, just like we had never learned about rounding. In order to earn an extra 0.1, doesn’t your conscience hurt if you go to such extravagant lengths? It seems that I am teaching international students about tipping culture under the guise of teaching them. In fact, I haven’t had time to tell you that I have actually lived in Canada for three years. I will tip if the service is good, and I will not tip if there is no service. I know all this.
What a treacherous boss lady who specializes in cheating Chinese students out of their money😅 I even foolishly thought that if I paid so much tip, at least you would help me pack it, but in the end I just threw a packing box and left. With such service, you have the nerve to force me to tip?
Very poor dining service. Anyway, I personally will never go, and I will also post to everyone on all platforms to avoid lightning😍🥰

Straight up rude staff, no manners

I ate here when I first came to Canada. At that time, the portions were large and the taste was carefully considered. As time goes by, the taste becomes more and more sloppy, and the service becomes worse and worse. 2/3 of a pot of Maoxuewang is filled with bean sprouts, lotus root slices and potatoes. The last time I went to eat, the middle-aged waiter in charge had a frivolous attitude from the moment I took the order, pointing and pointing at the order. They never offered to add water. But she was very rude when paying the bill. My boyfriend wanted to give 10%, but she stopped him. She forcefully demanded that we must choose the tipping plan they gave (the minimum is 15%). And during the service process, she joked with the uncles at other tables in Sichuan dialect, but ignored the talkative college students. It's really surprising that this kind of differential treatment is tolerated by customers. Prices have also skyrocketed. A meal for three people plus a disgusting tip would cost us $230. Is this a state banquet I’m having at this price? The result is just a big bag of bean sprouts from the supermarket that costs less than $3 and potatoes that cost less than $4. The three of them plus their mandatory tip seemed so sincere at first but now they are so disgusting. BTW, in case you don't know, waiters secretly discuss customers who order Japanese food on their menu.

The kimchi and duck tongue in the cold dishes are very delicious. The cold pot crucian carp is mediocre and expensive. The seating arrangement at the table is not very reasonable, and I could hear other tables chatting during the entire meal.

"This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites—a Sichuan cuisine gem in the Greater Bay Area. Having spent seven years studying in Sichuan, my love for Sichuan cuisine runs deep. I've tried numerous Sichuan restaurants in Vancouver, but none quite compare in authenticity. Here, the owner personally crafts each dish, resulting in flavors that are truly authentic and portions that are satisfying. Sichuan cuisine is best enjoyed fresh from the kitchen, as I've found that takeout just doesn't capture the essence quite as well."

I had a birthday dinner here. Although the food is quite expensive here the taste is so authentic. The spicy and oily food is spot on. If you are a Szechuan food lover you have to try this place. Probably one of the best Szechuan food restaurants in town.
