The cocktails have been good each visit. Service is fine when they’re not busy, but bad when the place is full. The food is not great.

A Cocktail bar without a bartender, strange place!

Great location with fantastic cocktails. Service was fantastic. Barrett is one of those people that really stands out when it comes to creating a memorable experience for his guest.
It's very unassuming and contrasting from the loud and busy exterior. It feels like your in a whole other world as soon as you step in the door.

Use to come here often years ago and it was great. Unfortunately it has declined since then. Slow service when it’s empty and worse when it got busy. Food tasted ok but was cold when we got it.

We waited 15 minutes at a table at not one staff member even acknowledged us. We were a party of 3, seated at a table near their big wine fridge. At one point a server approached our table, I thought we were finally going to be spoken to, but no, staff just reached behind my friend to access cooler.
The place was not busy at all, there were only 3 other tables with patrons. After 15 minutes we walked out. Not one word spoken, it was like we were invisible. We went next door to the sports bar and were promptly taken care of. Better service, better prices.
I visited here many times with my friend and cousin food was good I rarely go for reviews but this time when i was there for breakfast server let me to wait for long she was unable to understand what i am saying to her she don’t know English what to speak she was a healthy woman with short hair her behaviour was very rude to me she was talking like an owner of the restaurant a lot of anger i have to face today whenever i call her for service she behaves like an illiterate person Now this happened twice once with me and once with my cousin same lady was there for service I didn’t expect this from UVA that they hire these kind of people who don’t know how to do there job otherwise all things went right.
Thanks

I've come here a few times and while the drinks and food were great, the service staff, particularly the Russian guy was not. It takes away from the experience.

We had a quick bite here before heading to the VSO.Food was ok.Service? horrible. We had zero interaction with the waitress. We ended up ordering our drink and food with the bartender. He was pretty much running the place.

This spot serves breakfast from 8am until 2pm. Tucked underneath the Moda Hotel breakfast is available not only to the guest but is also open to the public. While the menu consists of only a handful of items, the items offered caters to all dietary needs and tastes. The food came out fast. Everything tasted fresh and the presentation was fantastic. The pancakes were Soo fluffy it was amazing! Hats off to the chef and our server. We definitely went back up to our suite with food coma! Highly recommend.Great job guys!!

Advertised as an Italian breakfast place by day, pictured with a great looking proper latte However the latte was not a latte . Just a coffee with milk and a bunch of foam on top. The omelet was tasty but again, not Italian more like a rival to Dennys. Add that the background music was rap filled with a bunch of explicitives which is fine for a bar at night, but don't advertise that you are an Italian breakfast place by day.

Glamorous and fun to drink coffee or cocktails with friends. Old fashioned on the beautiful street near the gorgeous Theatre Orpheum in downtown ???

We have walked past this place, on the way to the Orpheum, for years and finally stopped in on a Saturday at 6:00. Our mistake was that we hadn't tried it earlier. They have a very well stocked bar with people who know how to run it. Also, the food was excellent. I had the scallops with linguine, it was very flavorful and scallops cooked perfectly. She had pasta with eggplant, which was surprisingly good. The only issue was that the plates were freezing cold, but they remade hers right away.

This place. To us, this is heaven. It is out of this world, a place where you don’t exist (or maybe you do). Whatever it is that you feel like that is correct and right; this world continues to spin.George is my shepherd. In fact, all of ours. He made me drink out of the random ingredients I threw at him and it was divine.I love UVA. And George.

The mixologist here is a bit of a magician. Working solo, he can craft & deliver so many elevated cocktails at such a fast pace. This is a more quiet cocktail bar during the week, with moody house music.A great place to have a quiet conversation.Unpretentious & chill. Open til late.
