Ventura Room is a great place to meet up after work or before a show. My sister, brother and I came before a Just for Laughs show at the QE. Get there before 5:30 for good happy hour deals. We tried the Moroccan cauliflower, dill chips, nuts and olives and a few cocktails. Staff were friendly and attentive.

I see that two people left unfair reviews so I want to say this - the staff were so nice and understanding, despite how many people were there and trying to get in. I watched the girl at the front get yelled at by two women in line simply for saying they were at capacity, which is not their fault. The girl stayed professional despite being called many names.
Thank you to the Ventura staff for being kind and hosting this party!

We went there for the afterparty of an event. Went inside and waited at the bar to order. A staff member said we can’t serve you because there are too many people here and we are at capacity. They asked us to move back at the entrance and wait, even though there was no bouncer, no barrier, or anything to show that we cannot go in. Some of the people that originally waited in line behind us were still inside. We asked the staff member why that is. She said because “those guys refused to leave”. We said we would do the same. You don’t need to serve us, we just want to hang out. She said she would call the police. Either we all get in or none of us does. We are literally doing nothing wrong and harming nobody. Just a couple of women trying to have a good night and spend time with our favourite comedians. You threaten us but not the guys that “refuse to leave”? Because women are easier to intimidate?
We waited some more at the door and then they said they have last call. So we left. The most unfair treatment I have received in Vancouver. We should all have equal rights when it comes to the same issue. Us staying in and hanging out is really worthy of calling the cops? I wish I could give 0 stars.

Elodie was so warm, welcoming and gave good service throughout my entire stay. I can in for a quick drink but stayed because I loved the quality of the cocktails she made and her suggestions! Will come back to see her!

Came before a show at QE. Very convenient for those going to a show. The drinks were delicious, well priced. The food was decent. We ordered many small plates and happy hour items to share between 6 of us. About average to larger portions.
Service was quite odd because while the place was so quiet as we were the only table except for the start of a birthday party celebration but guests to the party were just trickling in (mind you, it's 4:30 only), the server's interactions left us feeling like we were an inconvenience. When we wanted to order more food, we were met with a curt, hurried response. When we wanted more cocktails, same response. We had questions about the seasonal tap - and she seemed impatient that we would ask? Why have a seasonal tap when you don't tell us what it is or don't like sharing it?
I mean... We just wanted more food and drinks. Haha... until we asked for the check, then we got a hint of warmth. I mean, maybe that's just what service is like in Vancouver these days. Maybe the mistake is we still left the same average tip we always do.

A lively atmosphere with great service. We were seated immediately. The Ventura lager and Wildeye Czech Pilsner were light and refreshiing. The sticky Thai chicken was hot and crispy. The service was quick, efficient and friendly. Great experience. Lively atmosphere.

We were seated, and it took 20 minutes for anybody to come over to take our order. The drinks were good but nobody came to check how we were going, and we sat with empty drinks waiting for the bill for half an hour. Staff all just hanging out at the bar

It was our corporate Christmas party here. The food was pretty good. It's catered to our menu. So I don't know the regular base food here. I've been here 15yrs ago for a friend who performed a gig. The customer service was good. Atmosphere was ok. Unfortunately that's all I have. But definitely recommend to have big group parties. It's one flat level so u can mingle around easy.
