From the moment we arrived at Vijâs Restaurant, it was clear we were in for something extraordinary. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what truly set the tone for the evening was the exceptional service provided by the entire team.
Vij, the head chef, personally came by our table multiple times, making sure everything was perfect. His presence alone speaks to the passion and care that goes into every dish. It's rare to see a chef of his calibre so engaged with guests, and it made the experience feel genuinely special. We were also visited by Alan, the head manager, whose professionalism and attentiveness were second to none. His calm, friendly approach made us feel taken care of at every moment, and it was clear he leads the team with excellence.
A special mention must go to Priyanka and Earl, who were both absolutely wonderful. Their service was thoughtful, warm, and efficientânever intrusive, always perfectly timed. They contributed so much to the smooth flow of the evening and made us feel truly valued as guests.
And of course, the foodâevery dish we ordered was immaculate. The flavours were bold yet balanced, beautifully prepared, and presented with care. Itâs no exaggeration to say this was some of the best cuisine weâve ever had. Each plate showcased the creativity and mastery that Vijâs is famous for.
From start to finish, this was a dining experience to remember. The combination of exceptional service, thoughtful leadership, and unforgettable food makes Vijâs Restaurant stand out as one of the best restaurants weâve ever visited. We visited with high expectations given the Michelin recognition and celebrity chef reputation. The service and staff were wonderful and very attentive. However, the food itself fell short for us. The vegetarian dishes didnât feel like fusion as advertised, and the flavour profile was overwhelmingly heavy on masala, which made it difficult to enjoy. Our server kindly offered a complimentary dessert after noticing our disappointment, which we really appreciated, though the dessert also didnât meet the level we expected from a Michelin-starred establishment. Overall, great service but the food wasnât to our taste.

Overall a great dinner. Very high level of attention to detail throughout.
The food was delicious and the service spot-on: it felt highly competent but never pretentious or over-bearing. Having a chance to briefly chat with Vikram Vij himself is a nice touch.
The physical space looks like it is all purpose-built to work effectively.
Overall good value, but I'd skip the samosas next time. They were delicious, but you can get good samosas elsewhere for 1/4 the price.

Everything about our visit was excellent- friendly staff that accommodated our large group, beautiful place with great ambiance, Vij himself making sure our night was going well, stellar recommendations with outstanding drinks and food. Shahi paneer and goat curry were favorites but everything was delicious. Will definitely go back if I make it to Vancouver again. In the meantime, I bought his book to use at home.

First of all, great patio and sitting area, it took me out of vancouver with the vibe. Also I had higher expectations ont his place, but it was just a regular indian restaurant, I would even say they didnt raste good at all, theycwere just okay. It took tooo long around 1 hour for meals to served.
