My wife and I had a late lunch at this restaurant with our best friend in Vancouver after a nearby hike. The fried chicken and motoyaki oyster were really delicious. The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. We will certainly revisit the next we visit Canada

Great staff. Food: 1) brunch is good; 2) burger is terrible! Fries are buttered, as if they weren't oily enough. There price is 3-times what you pay at A&W and the quality is half, so you get 1/6... Go to A&W if you crave a burger. Don't go here. Only come here if you like brunch, which is only served on weekends, but be prepared to spend...

We were in town for business on campus and stopped in for lunch. Service was excellent, a mixup with our order so we had to wait for mains to be re-fired, but management and our servers were very apologetic and took very good care of us. We weren’t in any rush so the wait was no issue for us. The chowder was excellent and we were happy with our mains. We wouldn’t hesitate to dine again next time we are in town.

Shocking. We love this restaurant and yet the last two visits have been deplorable. On Mother's Day, we waited over an hour for our food. A busy day, forgivable, fool me once.

Last night our dining experience featured a long hair in our pasta, and the second attempt equated to pasta that was so undercooked it stuck to our teeth. When the first pasta was taken I asked for some more smoked onion mayo for my french fries. It never came. Frankly, I should have received another order of fries let alone the mayo that I asked for, then we would at least have something to eat while we waited for our pasta.

Our server apologized and offered us some ice cream on the house. When the restaurant manager brought us the bill he tried to charge us $12 for two scoops of ice cream which they would have if I didn't catch it. There was a time when I thought Wildlight was too good of a restaurant and concept to be nickle and diming, perhaps I was mistaken.

Too many mistakes, and ineffective damage control. We care more about the latter than the former. It will be a while before we come back here or recommend this restaurant to our friends and clients.

They get five stars because the bar staff were amazing. There weren’t enough drink menus to go around for all the tables, surely printing is easy enough, so it took about 20mins to order my drink. And the drink list on the website wasn’t up to date. Yes, it was very busy, but I spent over 20 mins trying to flag my waitress before the head bar tender took my food order. She seemed to be more worried about her tickets, moving them to another station. All things that don’t equal Michelin star service. But the 3 bar staff were quick, skilled and observant, and were very attentive. They’re keepers. The food was very good though. I got the scallops and the risotto was excellent. The margarita was perfect. I’m just glad I wasn’t in a hurry. So go, but expect to wait and enjoy a leisurely meal. Worth the reservation.

It's been many years since I've had such an exceptional restaurant meal. Thank you to my friend Diana for introducing me to this fabulous place. The sablefish and chowder were truly outstanding! And Cam made the experience perfect with exceptional service. Sigh ...

Visited twice (once for lunch and once for brunch) and had great experiences both times!

We celebrated three birthdays on one occasion and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff were so welcoming and took amazing care of us from start to finish. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was perfect for a special brunch, and every detail made the day feel extra memorable. Thank you to the Wildlight team for making our celebration so wonderful. I’ll definitely be back!

Photos are from the two times we visited.

I was super excited to come to this Michelin guide restaurant with some friends. Unfortunately, I was left extremely disappointed.

We ordered the $240 porterhouse steak and some sides, first of all our waitress told us it would be around 45 minute wait due to the size of the meat. That turned out to be an hour and a half wait. When the steak and sides arrived, everyone was excited to dig in, however, we found the food to be quite disappointing. The mashed potatoes were super bland, some lettuce on the house salad was welted, and the steak was lacking salt and flavour (only tasted like rosemary). They also decided to pour all the rosemary on top of the steak (it’s usually used to infuse flavour in the basing process of cooking), as you don’t really eat the rosemary we had to pick it off of each piece. For this calibre restaurant and price range, we expected a great meal, but unfortunately, were left disappointed.

Simon was very helpful and helped us solve our food problem and gave us free chicken wings. Wildlight is always our favorite restaurant in the UBC area.

We so enjoyed our dinner. What a treat to have such a high quality restaurant in the neighborhood. Thank you to the chef and team! Very well done.
