Unmatched experience.
They know what they're doing.
The fresh pie sign on the front door is not entirely truthful. Coffee is fine, good even, but the tiramisu needed to be soaked more. Prices seem quite fair.

Yes to this team!
First day for coffee. Rainy overcast day. Second day for coffee and a ham and cheese croissant. And an iced coffee. Welcoming atmosphere. Food and coffee very good. Stayed close by to dogsit for a few days. Would go out of my way to stop by again in the future.

Asians Beware:
I have taken some time to think about whether or not to write this review. We have lived in the neighbourhood for the last 35 years since I was born and believe that we should always try to support businesses in the area.
This is not a one off incident. When I walk into the coffee shop, I have never been greeted and I feel that I am inconveniencing the owner by my presence and the need to buy coffee from a coffee shop. This has happened on numerous occasions and my wife and friends have also mentioned that the service here is terrible.
The crazy part is that when I see the owner (who is Asian) greet western people, he lights up and greets them with love and care. Are we inferior or something? Is the owner shameful of his own race?
There are many great coffee shops around like Velo or Comma, and the new Spanish place opening up. And we have still supported this shop because we used to love the Java Hut before. Unfortunately enough is enough and we won't be returning.

Great food, sandwiches are simple but delish and fresh. Matcha is amazing. One star less due to lack of public washroom. Hoping they can change this!

Started my morning with a visit to a quiet neighbourhood at W.16th St and Willow at my not-so-usual place, Willow Cafe; everyone is there because of something special, perhaps the sweet scent of baked goods, the friendly coffee connoisseur (boss, perhaps), or the off-the-hook prices for fav drinks and snacks. Small story short, I am glad I stopped by after waiting 30 mins for bus route #33 on a rainy Saturday late morning. Thanks :)

I think my cinnamon bun was supposed to have icing on it but I was too scared to say anything because the guy seemed annoyed. I won’t be back only because of the service. The food itself was pretty good and the coffee was also good but it wasn’t a good experience or vibe. Guy didn’t feel like answering my questions , I was clearly not wanted there.
