I come here all the time with my toddler. Get the child scoop. One time they mistakenly charged for the regular scoop. I noticed it was more and assumed the price went up. I’m busy watching my toddler. It’s a $1 difference. I get a notification to my phone that shows the “yum bucks” earned right after purchase which lines up with the purchase price (proving the $1 error). On a subsequent visit I asked for the $1 back on my recent purchase and showed the staff the $6 yum bucks text proving the error. One staff said they would throw in a cone. So my toddler was pretty happy she would get a cone. Apparently, meanwhile, another staff was on the phone with the owner (this whole $1 error was getting a lot of attention). The owner apparently said they needed my name and number and would investigate - that there’s no way to prove what I’m saying. No $1 off. No cone. So here I am at the check out with the ice cream in a cup and the cone in my child’s eager sight. No cone. (Did you hear that 2 year old? “No cone for you!”)
They said I could come in to talk to the owner the next day. It’s $1. I tip $1 each time I’m in. The irony! It really doesn’t matter other than on principal and I gotta say the response is the insult, not the innocent $1 error. Doesn’t make me want to come back or recommend them. #onedollargate. #noconeforyoutoddler.
EDIT to respond to the response: I’m a regular. It’s $1. I showed your nice staff the yum bucks text proving the error. They already “gave” and then took back the cone. If you’re running a business where you don’t allow staff to do the obvious and give the customer the $1 back (a regular customer who proved the error) due to your business overcharging that suggests an issue with the owner not giving staff the authority to act like normal people in a normal situation of your business making an error. There are other things this suggests but I’ll leave that alone. In what “real world” does a regular customer with a toddler showing the error meet this bizarre response (are there an abundance of customers in Kitsilano with toddlers trying to scam you out of $1?) It’s also not the “best” ice cream (since you brought it up). It tastes cheap. But it was convenient and the atmosphere is nice and I liked supporting the business for personal reasons. But it’s definitely not the “best” and your response is silly at best. Good luck to you! Use my 1 donated dollar wisely!

The store is very beautiful, everything is colorful and sweet. The price of the gummi candy ,is calculated by the box size , not by the weight. I think it's very cool.

Visited Yum Yum Sweet Shop for their Vancouver Ice Cream Festival specials, and it was an amazing experience! ?

The Strawberry Sangria Shake ($11.5) was a refreshing treat. Made with Sangria Sorbetto, strawberry sauce, raspberry coulis, whip, and toasted coconut, it was so good I finished it in seconds! ?

The Cookie Monster Sundae ($20) was even better. A giant homemade chocolate cookie topped with three scoops of ice cream, a sauce of your choice, 3 toppings, and a pile of whip. I chose cookie dough, vanilla, and chocolate fudge brownie with chocolate sauce, nuts, and brownie bites. It was simply delicious! ?

Yum Yum Sweet Shop offers a wide variety of unique ice cream flavors you won’t find elsewhere, along with candies, cookies, special desserts, cakes, and more. If you’re in Vancouver, this is the ultimate spot for all things sweet.

I am crazy about soft serve ice cream and this is the best I've ever had. Hands down!! My only wish is that there was more than one size, because the small is too small for me. But that won't stop me from coming back. ?

Best soft serve in the city, but sucks they don't have pricing ironed out for larger sizes and to go. Was charged $21 for a pint last week and then $15 for a "tripple". I don't really understand how a normal tub of ice cream is $12.50 and soft serve is $21. Makes no sense. Picture attached..
