Real Japanese Gastronomy at last! I was getting discouraged about one day finding a true gastronomic japanese restaurant, and upon a family member recommendation, gave it a try. What an experience. The food and service at Yuma are always perfection—salmon tartare sanshozuke with taro root chips, and grilled sablefish yuan-take are fabulous. The sake menu is also full of great taste experiences. Sitting outside in summer can be a bit noisy because of traffic but it's very pleasant to eat on a shaded patio in warm weather.
It was my birthday dinner with my friends, and it was an absolute delight! The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Mikiko, our server, was bright, lovely, and knowledgeable. She provided the best recommendations for food, sake, and explanations. The fresh dishes and fancy sake were amazing! I will definitely be going back for both business and personal dinners.
