Z&W Shanghai Kitchen offers top-quality Shanghai and Guangdong cuisine with friendly service and good portion sizes at a great price. The food is gorgeous and delicious, a city jewel for Shanghainese cuisine. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy with perfectly cooked vegetables and plenty of sauce, while the Shanghai fried noodle and spicy chicken were flavorful. The scallion pancakes and guotie were also highlights. Despite some Guangdong dishes, the Ma Lan Tou tofu stood out. The service was excellent, with good suggestions provided. Customers note the authentic Shanghainese cuisine, with some spicy SiChuan dishes also available. The family-run place is a nice location, and dishes like ba bao ya/8 stuffing duck and mei cai kou rou/pork belly w veg are recommended. While some experienced soup dumplings as a disappointment with not a lot of soup and chewy meat, and wontons lacking fragrance, others found the quality of food beyond expectation. The parking might be a bit tricky to find, but clear instructions are available by calling the restaurant. Overall, a fantastic dining experience worth enjoying again as leftovers.
