Went here for the first time this evening, and my partner and I really loved this place so much. We ordered so much food, 20 skewers of chicken, rice balls, oden soup, and some vegetable and seafood skewers as well. It was all very tasty and delicious, and we left with our belly so stuffed! The service was very lovely and friendly, and we loved how the chefs all said goodbye to us when we left! The atmosphere is also really cosy, comfortable and inviting. I’m definitely coming back! Oh! I also recommend the grape and melon drinks! So tasty!

Zakkushi on Denman is absolutely amazing — hands down the best Japanese skewers (yakitori) I’ve ever had! Every skewer is grilled to perfection with incredible flavor and tenderness. You can really taste the authentic charcoal-grilled style — just like in Japan.
The menu variety is fantastic, the atmosphere is lively and cozy, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Pair the skewers with a cold drink, and you’ve got the perfect night out.

This izakaya is hands down the closest you'll get to authentic Japanese yakitori in Vancouver. It offers a perfectly relaxed atmosphere where you can unwind with some sake and enjoy fantastic skewers grilled over binchotan charcoal. Everything I've tried here has been excellent, but a few items are absolute must-tries: Sea Salt Chicken Skin - Incredibly crispy and flavourful. Teriyaki Chicken Liver - Rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked. Chicken Gizzard - Great texture and seasoning. Thick Cut Beef Tongue - Tender and succulent, highly recommended. Umeshiso Yaki (Chicken thigh with sour plum and shiso) - A wonderful, bright flavour combination. Uzura Maki (Quail eggs wrapped in pork) - A savory bite that is always satisfying.

Yakitories are pre cooked, they just warm them up, that’s why they are not juicy and flavorful. Not even comparable to what we ate in Japan. Beef tongue was impossible to chew.

Most staff recognize me now but even before I was a regular they were always friendly and provide great service. Every time my beer is almost empty someone is asking me if I want another.
