This place is not just great for date nights, it’s an amazing blessing for Vancouver.I was just clearing some photos out on my phone and realized I haven’t wrote a review about Zarak Afghan kitchen.The ambience is intimate and welcoming. The staff is positive and friendly. Very professional. They also explain the food. They also address any concerns with allergies or religious dietary restrictions.The food is incredibly flavourful and fresh. You can feel the labor and passion on each plate. Cheers to the owner. I wish you many happy years to come. I’m definitely coming for brunch.

5 stars are rare for me but I really enjoy the yummy food here. Excellent bartender; try the Old Fashioned (comes w/a surprise). Buttermilk Fried Chicken is perfect. Service is welcoming and attentive. Restaurant Design is modern but not harsh w/allusions to Afghanistanian architecture.
Any time I need to treat someone special people, guests or colleagues, I take them to Zarak. I love the atmosphere and foods. They are different and amazing. Feel healthy eating their food. I tried to eat different food every time I go and this time we ate everything with lamb in the dish.Everyone was really happy.However, the highlight of the night was the desserts. My photo may not look like much but you are looking at one of the best Chais in town (tied with Chai Wagon) and the best best pistachio ice cream.I had LOTS AND LOTS of pistachio ice cream and gelato around the world and this blew my mind.

Absolutely delighted with my experience at Zarak! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for an authentic Afghan dining experience. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, each bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the kabuli pulao and mantu dumplings - they were absolutely divine! Although the arrives wasn’t so enjoyable.

We visited Zarak for the first time and were warm welcomed from beginning to end of our visit! Drinks were unique and delicious, food was rich and well made and to top it all off, they surprised us before our bill with a complimentary dessert due to it being our anniversary, so kind! Incredible service, like no where else.

They really know how to make a good lamb, if you like lamb, this place is awesome!They have super creative cocktails and I wish I could have tried more of them.The silk rice was exactly that, the best rice I’ve ever had! Prices are very decent and the portions are massive!Definitely get a reservation here because it’s busy and for good reason. This is a great restaurant and one that’s worth the visit.
