1 star for front staff - 2 blonde white men who never cared to ask our order or even say a Hi !
We stood there for 20 minutes and they never asked us our order. I anyways proceeded ahead to the front and asked for a hot chocolate and a chocolate delight pastry.
Heads up - the pastry was old and frozen from a long time. Views are amazing at their cafe but you don't have to pay this much to get a cold non welcoming vibe and rotten pastries ! Avoid at all costs !!!!

We waited 25 minutes at a time that 5 tables were occupied including us and 2 people working. I don't know what changed but previously I had tiramisu here that was amazing and now it is a tiramisu cake that you can buy the same quality at the grocery store. It has gone so far downhill at the entire resort that we will never go back here. Massive waste of money for what used to be a luxury vacation and now isn't even mid. View is incredible but you can walk around outside for free.

Waited for half an hour for service with 2 people working and 5 tables occupied. Dessert was the same as you can buy at the grocery store in the refrigerated section. Waited a long time for drink refill as well. Not impressed with the beer menu. 1 star for the view as that is the only good thing left about this place

It was awkward from the moment we walked in. Wasn’t sure if we should seat ourselves or if it was a go up to the counter and order kind of place. After a few moments of sitting we went to the bar to order drinks, waited a while .. but when the drinks came out they were good and the bartender was very friendly. Then again we had to go to the bar to order food which arrived not as described on the menu. The potato chips with avocado + poblano ranch dip came with no avocado. Had a much better experience at Peak Fine.

Your charcuterie board is what gets me through the nine-hour drive to visit Sparkling Hill each year! Haha
I just finished up my first board of the year, and it was out of this world. The flavors are oustanding! Well done.
Also, subbing the crackers with the jalapeño foccacia slices was brilliant.
Thank you!

I visited Barrique & Java multiple times. The best thing I tasted here was their Whipped Feta ($12) and Pink Fiesta ($19). The feta dish is local BC whipped feta with harissa honey and crostinis, it was delicious and made with good quality ingredients. The Pink Fiesta is a featured cocktail made with Empress Rose Gin, Basil, Strawberry Syrup and Lime Juice.
I want to point out that our service was quite slow, I'm not sure the root cause but service is definitely lacking.
The rest of the food and drinks were had were mediocre and way overpriced. We shared a Charcuterie Board ($32) and felt personally victimized by the Greek Yogurt Pretzels ($9.50 and not shown below). You could get both at Superstore for half the price and it would taste the same. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of merlot, so I wasn't completely in love with my Berry Bliss Sangria ($19). But, my Golden Italian Panini ($18) was decent... however extremely over priced.

The service is bad!
The person serving and taking the order was super rude and he did not care if any questions were asked regarding the ingredients, like he completely ignored and did not bother taking the order.
For the service part I would want to give a negative rating

In Sparkling Hill Resort. Beautiful spot for a drink anytime of day. Barista who served me was super friendly and helpful- he made me a drink based on what I like when I couldn’t decide! Beautiful surroundings. Will be back!

I ordered a cappuccino and it was absolutely awful. A place like this should really invest in a proper espresso machine and decent coffee, especially at a cost of $6.95….it was not worth more than $1.00. Service and atmosphere were lovely though!

Coffee cake and banana bread were on point. Great place to grab a quick drink or snack while you are staying at Sparking Hill.

Amazing staff! I wish there was more selection for gluten free individuals. The drinks were awesome! The view was awesome and I love the robe and slippers everyone wears ?
Amazing staff and some nice choices for a light meal - sandwiches, savoury scones and muffins, sweets. All the usual hot drinks, plus coctails, wine and beer
