Tanya and her staff make their meals with heart. Each dish is hand crafted with care and made from local ingredients, and fine ingredients! No skimping on quality here. I walk away feeling fulfilled, energized and happy I stopped in. The soups are made the way my Grandma did. There are even some gluten-free options, such as the take away dinners. You get your value at this cute little deli. Thank you for feeding my hunger with healthy food!

Stopped in on my way to Lumby. Haven't eaten here before but the sandwich board got me with the daily special Italian panini and lasagna soup. What's a lasagna soup you ask? It's the best damn soup you never knew you wanted. Italian panini was fantastic as well, one of the better ones in the Okanagan for sure (in-house made pesto check!). Super nice staff and a relaxed atmosphere - find a reason to head up highway 6, as good as or better bistro eats you'll find in Vernon or Kelowna.

The ladies working at Bluenose were civil and relatively accommodating and the fare was adequately prepared simple food, no organic options listed however. The staff seemed more interested in their conversation and what was happening in the parking lot than welcoming and serving customers. We stopped in to grab our brother something for lunch. We bought a sandwich, a small soup, a cinnamon bun, a drip coffee and a small container of haskap berries (which turned out to be overpriced and not very fresh). The cost of this meal was disorienting. Left us wondering what exactly is happening in the world when a small take out lunch at a roadside cafe costs $68.00. Anyone feel that? After we paid, my girlfriend asked to see an itemized account of the bill. How could these simple things actually cost $68.00? The lady in charge showed her the list of items and the cost, with the attitude like she was being cheap for asking. Is this where we've come to people, a simple lunch and some soggy berries costs as much as an entire dinner for two? Pardon the pun, but this is nothing more than 'highway robbery'. People running these types of small businesses need some education on the basic premise of the nature of what service they are offering. Try offering the best quality, healthy, delicious food at reasonable prices and people will come back again and again. Not that the people at Bluenose will likely care, but we won't ever go back there. As a point of reference, we had a delicious dinner for two with fantastic service at Kawakubo and the total bill was around $40.00.

We were in Vernon and decided to look a little further out for a nice place for lunch. So glad we decided to come here! We had the Italian melt and pastrami pickle melt with the Thai basil soup. Absolutely wonderful! You could tell from the first taste that this was made with fresh ingredients and passion. And after a chat with the women in charge I’m sad that I don’t live locally. I’d be here every day if I could. So do yourself a favour and stop here for either a quick bite on the go with their premade sandwiches and baked items or stay longer for a dine in experience.
